Job Summary:

The Group Sales Manager responsibilities include maximizing revenues for the Tucson Roadrunners in group sales, contributing to the sale of season, group, and partial plan ticket packages. This position requires a highly motivated and positive individual to lead, coach and contribute to the overall ticket sales effort while supervising the day-to-day activities of the Group Sales Department. This role is a sales-driven role. The perfect candidate should have proven experience in prospecting, cultivating, and closing as related to Team Sales efforts.

Tasks and Responsibilities:

  • Sell Tucson Roadrunners products including season tickets, partial/mini plan packages with a primary focus on group tickets.
  • Build relationships to provide repeat business, generate referrals and provide excellent customer service.
  •  Proactively create opportunities for new business with existing customers.
  • Reach minimum touchpoint and activity metrics from provided lists and personal research and prospecting to area companies to sell season, group, and partial plan ticket packages.
  • Manage touchpoints and activity of all sales account executives as it relates to group sales. 
  • Call past customers and cold call new sales leads to generate sales.
  • Handle incoming sales calls from sales prospects for all ticket products.
  • Conduct in-arena appointments and tours of the Tucson Convention Center.
  • Meet or exceed assigned sales goals for all ticket products (personal and departmental responsibility). 
  • Maintain and complete accurate records of all ticket product customers.
  • Work games to support ticket sales promotional initiatives.
  • Assist with any necessary recruitment, interviewing, hiring, and training of ticket staff members.
  • Monitor time management and day to day activities for the Group Sales AE’s.
  • Monitor weekly status of staff by measuring productivity and results.
  • Enhance the sales presentation and in-arena appointment presentation skills of staff by going on appointments through coaching and supervision.
  • Assist sales staff with closing techniques/skills and account management to ensure optimal results.
  • Assist with establishing goal and incentive programs for direct reports.
  • Conduct sales meetings with direct reports to review activity and goals plus communicate updates on pending projects and events.
  • Review and communicate market analysis to determine customer needs and product interest throughout the sales campaign for the Roadrunners.
  • Responsible for assisting service department with handling of customer problems and/or complaints as they relate to sales made by the Group Sales staff.
  • Responsible for managing and servicing assigned customer accounts for maximizing up-sell and renewal partial plan results.
  • Assist with representing the organization at local business and group associations meetings to promote the Roadrunners.
  • Assist in the developing sales and marketing strategies for the season, partial plan, group ticket packages, etc.
  •  Assist in delivery of all tickets to customers ensuring the highest level of professional service including letter customization, season ticket holder and survey cards.
  • Assist in the development of an effective email, call, and direct mail strategy.
  • Assist other ticket sales departments on an as needed basis.
  • Other duties as assigned by the Executive Team such as staff scheduling, group sales videoboard messages, Manager on Duty (game nights), etc.

Required Knowledge/Skills/Job Qualifications:

  • Excellent communications skills, both written and verbal.
  • Proven expertise in customer service, sales, & management.
  • Knowledge of the AHL & the Tucson Roadrunners.
  • Ability to handle multiple projects.
  • Effective time management skills.
  • Natural aggressive approach and positive attitude.
  • Quality presentation skills.
  • Team oriented & Self-motivated.

Education and Formal Training:

  • Bachelor’s Degree from an accredited four-year university

Experience:

  • 3 years of successful sales/management experience in promoting a variety of ticket/membership packages in a team, arena, or membership environment. Proven sales professional with business sales experience.

Materials and Equipment Used:

  • Proficiency with office equipment: CRM operations (currently using HubSpot), Ticketmaster, Archtics software, SPINZO ticketing software as well as Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook)

Salary:

  • Salary ($40,000-$45,000) based on experience plus commissions paid for personal sales with handsome bonus structure for Sales Team achievement.
