JOB SUMMARY:  The Staff Accountant supports the financial operations by ensuring accurate and timely financials in compliance with GAAP. Duties include but are not limited to 3rd party billing, journal entry upload, account reconciliations, and various month end close processes. This role will work closely with department Managers to provide detailed financial records, and this person may be asked to assist with additional projects as the need arises.  

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
  • Execute month-end close activities including journal entries, accruals, and assigned reconciliations; ensure completeness and accuracy to close deadlines.
  • Provide fluctuation analysis and insights to leadership for forecasting and financial reporting.
  • Prepare JE support, reconciliations, and workpapers with documented conclusions and perform thorough self‑review for completeness and audit readiness. 
  • Create sponsorship invoices and reconcile accounts receivable. 
  • Help support the year-end financial audit process with external auditors by helping prepare schedules and pulling supporting documents. 
  • Perform ad-hoc financial analysis and participate in special projects as assigned by management.

JOB QUALIFICATIONS:
  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or related field
  • 1+ years of related experience
  • Experience working with accounting or ERP systems (NetSuite preferred)
  • Analytical, attention to detail, and organizational skills 
  • Self-driven: You need an execution focus and a strong sense of urgency and conviction, even under minimal supervision
  • Collaborative: Team player with the ability to work with all levels of employees, both internal and external
  • Must be available to work office hours between 9am and 5pm Mon-Fri.

Physical Demands and Working Environment
While performing the duties of this job, the employee is required to stand, walk, sit, use hands and fingers, handle objects and office tools, reach, balance, stoop, kneel, crouch, talk, and hear. The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by the job include close vision, distance vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus. The employee is exposed to an office environment, with noise levels usually moderate.
