Great opportunity to work in the entertainment industry! The H-E-B Center at Cedar Park delivers fun, family entertainment including sports, concerts and family shows among other events, bringing energy, excitement, and new business to the Cedar Park, Austin and Central Texas area. The H-E-B Center is home to the Texas Stars, AHL team of the Dallas Stars, and the Austin Spurs, NBA Development League team of the San Antonio Spurs. 
Working at the H-E-B Center means being a part of the premier entertainment venue of the area. We employ a large team of part-time workers, with a lean staff of full-time workers, all geared toward putting on a line-up of amazing events.
The full-time Event Coordinator position requires the ability to work flexible hours based on events, including daytime, evening, weekends and holidays as needed. 
 
JOB SUMMARY: Responsible for assisting the Event Manager in overseeing all aspects of operations related to events in the Event Services department.
 
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
  • Prepare monthly schedules for all part-time event staff in a consistent and timely manner. Respond and be available for all part-time staff needs and inquiries. 
  • Ensure necessary levels of staffing coverage is met for each event 
  • Participate in the hiring process and training of all new part-time Guest Services staff 
  • Establish engaging ways to maintain high part-time Guest Services staff morale
  • In collaboration with the Event Manager, oversee the relationship with the Austin Spurs which include weekly planning meetings to ensure all operational needs are met and help plan and implement all game day needs 
  • Meet with Meeting Room clients to plan and organize all Meeting Room Events 
  • Prepare and distribute event information documents for each event that are to be done accurately and in a timely manner so all staff are informed of event details
  • Maintain event recap reports on all events noting items of importance in consideration for future events  
  • Establish and maintain new and existing standards of customer service
  • Manage the handling of customer complaints and inquiries 
  • Implement facility rules, regulation policies and procedures
  • Provide clear, concise, and timely communication of directives to other departments before, during and after an event
  • Maintains the proper image and generate positive public relations with patrons and staff
 
JOB QUALIFICATIONS:
  • Bachelor’s degree in Management, Business, or related field preferred
  • One (1) year of professional work experience in a customer service role and knowledge of 
  • AutoCAD is preferred but not required
  • Organization skills are essential 
  • Work effectively under pressure and/or stringent schedule and produce accurate results
  • Must be able to maintain an effective working relationship with clients, employees, promoters, patrons and others encountered in the course of employment
  • Excellent communication, problem solving and organizational skills.
  • Follow oral and written instructions and communicate effectively with others in both oral and written form
  • Remain flexible and adjust to situations as they occur
  • Ability to work with minimal supervision
  • Work independently, exercising judgment and initiative
  • Must possess professional presentation, appearance, and work ethic
  • To perform this job successfully, an individual should have excellent knowledge of computers as well as basic computer programs
  • Ability to work flexible hours based on events, including daytime, evening, weekends and holidays as needed
 
Physical Demands and Working Environment
While performing the duties of this job, the employee is required to stand, walk, sit, use hands and fingers, handle objects and office tools, reach, balance, stoop, kneel, crouch, talk, and hear. The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by the job include close vision, distance vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus. The employee is exposed to an arena environment, with noise levels that can reach quite loud.
