The Springfield Thunderbirds are currently seeking a Social Media Intern for the 2025-26 American Hockey League season. It will be a hands-on experience, providing the chance to gain relevant expertise in the field and capture hockey at the second-highest level. This internship position will be responsible for assisting the Creative Services Department in tasks that may include but not be limited to:

  • Create and capture photo and video content of T-Birds games, community events, etc to post on social platforms (Twitter, Instagram, Facebook, TikTok)
  • Assist the Social Media Manager in-game by clipping and posting highlights for social platforms and promotional purposes
  • Update game night graphics such as lineups, intermission reports, and final score during the game
  • Assist the Game Day Staff with promotional activities 
  • Able to assist the Social Media Manager in working away games (remotely) by updating social media feeds, game night graphics, clipping highlights, and monitoring AHLTV
  • Ability to assist Social Media Manager in office during the week with projects and content 

Requirements:
  • Work ALL Springfield Thunderbirds home and away games during the 2025-26 season
  • Must be actively involved with all social media channels and up to date on the trends
  • Experience capturing engaging content with camera and iPhone
  • General experience in Adobe Suite preferred, experience with Photoshop and Premiere is a plus
  • Strong hockey knowledge and interest are highly recommended and encouraged
  • Available to work pre-arranged office hours during the week
  • Must conduct themselves with a professional attitude and appearance at all times
  • Must be able to receive Academic Credit for internship
