POSITION SUMMARY
The Lehigh Valley Phantoms, American Hockey League affiliate of the Philadelphia Flyers, are seeking an Audio Visual (AV)/Broadcast Production Intern to join our event presentation and technical operations team. Working directly under the Director of AV and alongside experienced production professionals, the AV Production Intern will gain hands-on experience supporting live sporting events, concerts, entertainment productions, and special events at PPL Center.
This internship is designed for students or recent graduates interested in sports production, live event technology, broadcasting, audio engineering, video production, or entertainment management. The selected candidate will have the opportunity to learn industry-standard production systems while contributing to the successful execution of professional sporting events and live entertainment.

- Develop technical skills related to audio, video, lighting, and broadcast systems.
- Learn game presentation and event entertainment workflows.
- Understand coordination between venue operations, production staff, broadcasters, and technical vendors.
- Build professional experience within a major sports and entertainment venue.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
- Assist the Director of AV and production staff during Lehigh Valley Phantoms (AHL) hockey games, Lehigh Valley Spirits (MASL) soccer games, concerts, and other live events.
- Support the operation of video boards, audio systems, lighting systems, and broadcast control room equipment.
- Assist with setup, testing, troubleshooting, and breakdown of production systems before and after events.
- Learn and assist with programming and operating event lighting for pregame presentations, intermissions, and entertainment elements.
- Support live game presentation activities, sponsor activations, and in-game entertainment execution.
- Assist with coordinating technical needs between production staff, event operations personnel, and outside vendors.
- Monitor signal flow, playback systems, communications systems, and other production equipment under staff supervision.
- Help maintain organization, inventory, and upkeep of technical equipment and production workspaces.
- Participate in special projects and production initiatives as assigned.
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS & ABILITIES
- Strong interest in sports production, live events, broadcasting, or entertainment technology.
- Excellent communication and teamwork skills.
- Strong attention to detail and willingness to learn in a fast-paced environment.
- Ability to adapt quickly and remain calm during live productions.
- Basic understanding of audio, video, lighting, or broadcast technology is preferred.
- Familiarity with Yamaha Audio Consoles, grandMA lighting systems, Dante, Ross Xpression, 3Play Replay, Wave Central wireless video systems, or similar technologies is a plus, but not required.
- Ability to work evenings, weekends, and holidays based on event schedules.
- Ability to safely lift and move production equipment.
- Positive attitude, strong work ethic, and eagerness to contribute to a collaborative team environment.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
- Current enrollment in or recent graduation from a program related to Broadcasting, Media Production, Communications, Audio Engineering, Event Management, Sports Management, Information Technology, or a related field.
- Prior experience with student media, campus athletics productions, live events, theater productions, or broadcast environments is preferred.
- Familiarity with professional sports, hockey, soccer, or large-scale venue operations is beneficial but not required.
- Valid driver's license and reliable transportation preferred.
