About Our Internship Program
The Colorado Eagles are committed to providing college students with a one-of-a-kind internship program that will prepare you for your future career in the sports industry. With the Eagles you will be able to learn from some of the best in the industry and strengthen your skills and knowledge in sports management. Interns will have the opportunity to work closely with Eagles front office staff members and learn how a professional team operates through a multitude of real-life tasks and situations.
How To Make Our Team
Our interns bring a strong work ethic and excellent communication skills. Working in sports requires a large time commitment so we expect that all interns will be available for 80% of games and some events. Games and events can fall on nights, weekends, and/or holidays, and we ask that you understand this before applying. We require that all interns have a reliable form of transportation to and from games and community events and maintain a professional appearance when working for the Eagles.
Internship Duties:
Assist in the set-up of the press box area prior to each game and serve as a support system for the media during the games. Some writing of game program material, press releases, game recaps and other time-sensitive materials will be included. You will also assist in the production of the Eagles Media Guide(s). Assist in the preparation of Game Notes for each and every game (Game Notes are distributed to the media, both locker rooms and the luxury suites). These include statistical information, player bios and team comparisons.
The ideal candidate will possess the following skills:
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Advanced working knowledge of Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook applications
- A professional appearance and attitude
- Availability to work on all of the Eagles game nights from about 4pm-10pm
- On rare occasions, the availability to assist in the Eagles office on non-game days
- A background in journalism or communications
- A positive attitude and a willingness to go above and beyond the internship responsibilities
- The ability to make informed decisions under pressure and tight deadlines
- Approximately 200 internship hours per semester time commitment
This is a non-paying internship position, but college credits are available.
