Job Summary       

The Marketing Coordinator will support the Manager, Marketing Operations & Strategy in executing the day-to-day functions of marketing and creative operations. Acting as a key liaison across departments, this role will assist in the intake, tracking, and delivery of marketing and design requests.

This position will contribute to the coordination of cross-functional initiatives with departments such as Marketing, Digital, Partnerships, Community Relations, Ticketing, Retail, and Hockey Development to ensure deliverables are organized, on-brand, and meet timelines.

The Marketing Coordinator will also play an important role in the planning and execution of tentpole campaigns, including supporting brainstorming sessions, managing timelines, and preparing materials. Additional responsibilities include assisting with print production, managing promotional item orders, and maintaining project management systems (WorkZone) to help keep projects moving efficiently.

This role is ideal for a detail-oriented, proactive professional with strong organizational skills, a collaborative mindset, and an interest in integrated marketing campaign development and execution.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • Support strategic marketing plans for company-wide initiatives, working closely with the Marketing Manager on development, execution and recapping.
  • Assist in the in-take, tracking, ideation and recapping of all external department needs alongside Marketing Manager.
  • Maintain and develop vendor relationships.
  • Support Marketing Manager in management of creative requests, brainstorm scheduling, notetaking, and project coordination.
  • Manage promotional vendor relationships and all internal promotional item ordering including in-game giveaways, promo items, event items, etc.
  • Assist Partnership Department with partner activations including sweepstakes, promotions and other activations that align with marketing initiatives.
  • Support management of relationships with all freelance designers and external vendors for print, production, and installation, including contracts, timelines, and billing processes.
  • Support the Mascot Coordinator and Social Media team to assist with the execution of the strategic content plan for ThunderBug’s social channels.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

  • Approximate number of events worked per year: 41 home games and Marketing initiatives as needed

Qualifications

  • Minimum of Bachelor’s Degree in Marketing, Communications, or Business Management
  • Minimum of 1-2 years live events or related experience preferred
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office, Microsoft Outlook and Internet Explorer
  • Ability to work both independently and in team-oriented environments

Working Conditions

  • Ability to work efficiently and effectively in office and arena environment that can be exciting, loud and distracting 
  • This is an onsite role; flexibility to work a minority of time remotely. 
  • Ability to work extended hours including late nights, holidays, and weekends as needed 
  • Ability to lift/carry/move up to 50lbs 
  • Ability to work in cold/hot indoor and outdoor temperatures 
  • Ability to travel within the US and Canada for up to one-week at a time
  • Ability to work in areas that can become crowded with equipment and/or people 
  • Ability to work comfortable around special effects including, but not limited to: haze, strobe lights, lasers, etc.
