Job Summary       

The Facility Services: Shift Manager is responsible for overseeing the Conversion and Housekeeping departments and leading staff by example to achieve world‑class standards. This role drives excellence at every level by motivating, coaching, and developing team members to ensure the building is consistently clean, safe, and event‑ready, delivering one of the best facility experiences in the NHL and North America.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities
  • Directs conversion and housekeeping personnel and day‑to‑day activities to ensure seamless, efficient operations and adherence to operational standards on a designated shift.
  • Leads pre‑shift meetings to promote team engagement, motivation, safety awareness, training reinforcement, and communication of company and event‑specific information.
  • Plans and executes off season summer projects and maintenance
  • Assists in the development, implementation, and maintenance of departmental Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs).
  • Identifies and implements process improvements to simplify work methods, enhance working conditions, reduce costs, and improve operational effectiveness.
  • Practices sound fiscal management with a focus on customer service
  • Ensures the health, safety, and security of employees and guests by enforcing compliance with all operational procedures, safety rules, and OSHA standards.
  • Investigates, documents, and reports accidents, safety incidents, policy violations, and disciplinary matters in accordance with company procedures.
  • Oversees ongoing maintenance and care of all housekeeping equipment
  • Responsible SDS sheets for all chemicals and products, ensuring they are up to date and in the correct locations
  • Conducts regular quality control and building inspections to ensure cleaning standards are maintained at a high level and building remains in a clean and safe state
  • Contributes to project cost analysis and conducts research for future product purchases
  • Assists with department inventory and resource tracking and recordkeeping
  • Maintains open and proactive communication with staff to foster high morale, teamwork, and a positive work environment.
  • Coordinates and tracks employee trainings related to jobs/safety, orientation, etc.
  • Schedules Facility Services staff to ensure deployments are prepared and filled according to event housekeeping and conversion needs
  • Partners with People Operations to interview, evaluate and hire job candidates to fill department vacancies and ensure optimal level of staffing
  • Other related duties, as assigned
Supervisory & Management Responsibilities
  • Oversee a team of three Facility Services: Shift Supervisors
  • Conducts quarterly performance evaluations, addresses employee performance issues, and administers corrective or disciplinary action as needed.
  • Trains and coaches employees on housekeeping and conversion “best practices”
Game/Event Responsibilities
  • Game/Event Night Responsibilities: Yes
  • Approximate number of events worked per year: 150+
Qualifications
  • Minimum 3 years’ experience supervising large diverse staff
  • Minimum 3 years’ of event conversions and housekeeping experience
  • Must have a valid driver’s license and be eligible to be covered under the company’s insurance policy 
  • Forklift certified (preferred); must be willing and able to become certified if not already
  • Experience working in the sports and entertainment venue preferred  
  • Previous people management experience required
  • Effective written and oral communication skills
  • Exceptional attention to detail and time management skills
  • Ability to multi-task and work effectively in a fast paced environment
  • Prior experience with ABI Mastermind workforce management software preferred
  • Experience with Microsoft Office Applications
Working Conditions
  • Ability to work efficiently and effectively in office and arena environment that can be exciting, loud and distracting
  • This is an onsite role; flexibility to work a minority of time remotely
  • Ability to work extended hours including late nights, holidays, and weekends as needed
  • Ability to lift/carry/move up to 50lbs
  • Ability to work in cold/hot indoor and outdoor temperatures
  • Ability to commute to various venues throughout the Greater Tampa Bay Area
  • Ability to work in areas that can become crowded with equipment and/or people
  • Ability to stand on feet for long periods of time, walk long distances and climb stairs.
  • Ability to climb ladders, kneel, bend, stoop and squat without any physical movement restriction
  • Ability to work comfortably at high heights using man lifts, truss, ladders, and catwalks
  • Ability to work comfortable around special effects including, but not limited to: haze, strobe lights, lasers, etc.
