JOB SUMMARY

The Part-Time Broadcast Assistant will assist in the setup, production and execution of our Lightning Radio Broadcasts, podcasts, audio features and content on our 24-7 audio stream. This position may assist with Scripps Sports efforts as needed. These responsibilities include, but aren’t limited to, attending practices and press conferences, recording and producing shows and features for air, handling social media posts, setting up and tearing down radio equipment, as well as assisting with other VSG departmental requests.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

· Recording practice and post-game audio for broadcast

· Recording and editing audio for use on radio broadcasts

· Editing and posting content on social media platforms

· On-air opportunities are possible depending on the candidate

· Conceptualizing, recording and producing audio features to run on terrestrial radio & digital audio

· Setting up radio equipment for broadcasts

· Producing shows for radio broadcasts

GAME/EVENT RESPONSIBILITIES

· This position will work every Tampa Bay Lightning game broadcast (both home and away) from Benchmark International Arena

QUALIFICATIONS

· A degree or working towards a degree in broadcasting

· Proficient in Audio Editing software like Adobe Audition

· On-air experience preferred

· Excellent written and oral communication skills

· Excellent problem-solving and organizational skills

· Attention to detail

· Strong team orientated person with a great attitude

WORKING CONDITIONS

· Ability to work efficiently and effectively in office and arena environment that can be exciting, loud and distracting

· This is an onsite role; flexibility to work a minority of time remotely.

· Ability to work extended hours including late nights, holidays, and weekends as needed

· Ability to lift/carry/move up to 25lbs

· Ability to work in cold/hot indoor and outdoor temperatures

· Ability to commute to various venues throughout the Greater Tampa Bay Area

· Ability to work in areas that can become crowded with equipment and/or people

· Ability to stand on feet for long periods of time, walk long distances and climb stairs.

· Ability to climb ladders, kneel, bend, stoop and squat without any physical movement restriction
