Job Summary
The Assistant Manager, Retail Operations is responsible for the operational success of all Tampa Bay Sports stores within Benchmark International Arena on a daily basis and at Tampa Bay Lightning hockey games. This position will hire, train, schedule, lead, and develop our staff to consistently meet and exceed Tampa Bay Sports standards. This position will also oversee the set up and merchandising of all retail locations.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities
- Develops frontline staffing plans for all hockey games and daily store shifts at the Benchmark International Arena, balancing employee availability with operational needs
- Processes the frontline payroll in ABI to ensure employees are paid accurately and on time
- Works closely with People Operations, ensuring staff compliance with all employee handbook policies and Tampa Bay Sports procedures
- Responsible for recruitment and personnel management of part-time employees, in partnership with Manager of Retail Operations, including hiring, point allocations, write-ups, and terminations
- Oversees setup and operations all Tampa Bay Lightning locations within Benchmark International Arena, including cleanliness, operational functionality, merchandising, product movement and restocking
- Gives clear direction to supervisors and associates while providing effective coaching and feedback
- Effectively handles difficult front-of-house situations, providing world-class customer service to our fans and internal stakeholders
- Oversees Tampa Bay Sun FC retail operations on game days
- Other duties and responsibilities as assigned

Qualifications
- Minimum of 2+ years of experience successfully leading and developing a retail team in a fast-paced environment
- Excellent organizational and time management skills
- Must possess effective written and verbal communication skills
- Ability to have difficult conversations with employees and guest to pursue the best outcome
- Ability to problem-solve and offer best-in-class customer service in high-pressure situations
- Has a positive attitude with the ability to succeed in a fast-paced environment
- Knowledge of POS systems; experience with retailcloud a plus
Working Conditions
- Ability to work efficiently and effectively in office and arena environment that can be exciting, loud and distracting
- This is an onsite role; flexibility to work a minority of time remotely.
- Ability to work extended hours including late nights, holidays, and weekends as needed
- Ability to lift/carry/move up to 25lbs
- Ability to work in cold/hot indoor and outdoor temperatures
- Ability to work in areas that can become crowded with equipment and/or people
- Ability to stand on feet for long periods of time, walk long distances and climb stairs.
- Ability to work comfortable around special effects including, but not limited to: haze, strobe lights, lasers, etc.
- Must be able to communicate clearly and concisely in the English language
