Job Summary:

The Community Relations & Social Impact Senior Manager is responsible for the assisting and advancing the mission of the Community Relations & Social Impact team to drive social change and impact throughout the Tampa Bay community, and will oversee all community outreach and programming for the Tampa Bay Lightning, including Hockey is For Everyone and NHL Awareness programming and Game Nights, corporate social responsibility and giving, in-kind and experience donation requests, the employee volunteer program, and player philanthropy.


The Position will report to Executive Vice President of Community Outreach and Social Impact, and work closely with the Foundation, Community Relations & Social Impact team, Public Relations, Community Hockey, Hockey Operations and Partnership Activation Teams.


Essential Duties & Responsibilities:
  • Lead Hockey is For Everyone committees and plan the community outreach for Hispanic Heritage, Black Heritage, PRIDE, Mental Health, Gender Equality and Sustainability initiatives
  • Plan and activate NHL Initiatives and awareness nights, including Hockey Fights Cancer, Military Appreciation, Black History, Hispanic Heritage, Go Green and Pride
  • Help ideate and activate community programming around DE&I, Education, Mental Health and Sustainability
  • Work closely with Partnership team to create, plan, and execute social impact programming for dozens of partners of the Tampa Bay Lightning
  • Work with players to manage the player philanthropy program, including community appearances and distribution of ticket donations to designated non-profits throughout the season 
  • Oversee the CHARGE employee volunteer program and create opportunities for employees, season ticket members and corporate partners to donate their time and skills to help others. 
  • Oversee Game Day collection and activation drives on the plaza throughout the season including toy, food, and holiday drives
  • Oversee the fulfilment of in-kind, experience and player ticket donation requests
  • Manage the community engagement budget, including all purchase orders, invoices and expense reports as well as non-profit event sponsorships
  • Engage with Lightning players, coaches, alumnus and executives at community appearances, autograph signings, and events
  • Assist with Lightning Foundation fundraising events by engaging staff volunteers at all Foundation events and general event support
  • Help execute internal player merchandise signings multiple times per year
  • Supervise full-time Community Relations Coordinator
 

Qualifications:
  • Minimum of Bachelor’s degree and 4-6 years of non-profit, sports, public relations, or marketing experience
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • An energetic and professional demeanor
  • Extremely organized and detail-oriented
  • Ability to work long hours, weekends, and holidays while prioritizing multiple tasks in a deadline-driven environment
  • Proficiency in MS Office products (Outlook, Word, and Excel); Experience with VolunteerHub, Approve4Good (Request Item) and Bump 50/50 platforms are preferred, but not required
