Job Summary

This position is responsible for oversight of multiple facilities including Benchmark International Arena, USF Yuengling Center, Brandon Practice Facility, The Lightning Made Training Center (Community Hockey), Embarc Collective and Cigar City Brewing as well as any new facilities we acquire in the future vision of our organization.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
- Oversight of workflow of Engineering department staff, ensuring successful delivery of service and task execution through onsite supervision
- Ensures compliance with documented plans and provides direction and changes where needed.
- Manages, schedules and submits payroll for the Engineering department personnel
- Manages and develops employee performance standards through effective training programs, appraising performance and reward and disciplining employees as appropriate
- Manages building control system and all components associated with the climate control system, including programming, monitoring and scheduling system for the most economical and sustainable level of operation.
- Maintains facility-wide preventative maintenance program, and consistently looks to improve maintenance plans
- Assists Director of Engineering with coordinating and organizing all building renovations, repairs and improvements
- Coordinates and documents all building repairs and preventative maintenance using internal Work Order Management system
- Manages finance, purchasing and capital expenditures for department. Tracks all costs associated with purchases and services.
- Develops and implements regular safety meetings, assures department compliance with OSHA, and actively participates in facility safety drills and planning.
- Ensures Engineering team has required tools, parts, and resources to perform their jobs effectively and safely
- Develops techniques for work method simplification, improving working conditions, reducing costs, and staying informed on industry best practices
- Actively work to reduce gas, electric and water bills.
- Knows and ensures all laws, codes, ordinances, policies, procedures, Risk Management, safety precautions, rules/regulations and emergency procedures are followed and administers emergency preparedness for the department
- Optimizes relationships with third-party partners to ensure consistency of service and related expenses.

Supervisory & Management Responsibilities
- Directly oversees Engineering team of Full-time and Part-time staff. Includes Assistant Engineering Manager, Electricians, HVAC technicians, Plumbers, Engineers, General Maintenance, Carpenters and Painters.
- Hire and lead full-time and part-time staff and manage their workflow
- Responsible for ongoing coaching and career development of staff
- Manages and develops employee performance standards through effective training programs, coaching performance and disciplining employees as appropriate
- Responsible for timely performance feedback through the Quarterly Snapshot process
- Partners with People Operations in talent acquisition and retention programs for the department
- Approve and manage staff hours and overtime effectively and timely
Game/Event Responsibilities

Qualifications
- AA/AS Degree or Vocational Certification in related field preferred
- A minimum of five plus (5+) years’ experience in Facilities Management
- Thorough knowledge of local, state and federal codes and regulations
- Proven leadership and supervisory experience managing, coaching, discipline and hiring staff required
- Experience in managing a workforce, creating schedules, managing hours and overtime, assigning tasks, and mobilizing a workforce
- Solid and effective interpersonal and work leadership skills to provide guidance and coaching to staff, with an emphasis on workplace safety
- Demonstrated organizational and project management skills to support high quality standards while maintaining meticulous building conditions
- Solid verbal and written communication skills, including active listening, flexibility, critical thinking, and the ability to multi-task and ensure effective time management
- Solid decision making and reasoning skills, and ability to develop original ideas to solve problems and conduct operations analysis and quality control analysis
- Strong computer and software experience preferred
- Knowledgeable with Johnson Controls Metasys building management system preferred

- Ability to work efficiently and effectively in office and arena environment that can be exciting, loud and distracting
- This is an onsite role; flexibility to work a minority of time remotely.
- Ability to work extended hours including late nights, holidays, and weekends as needed
- Ability to work prolonged periods sitting at a desk and working on a computer.

- Ability to climb ladders, kneel, bend, stoop and squat without any physical movement restriction
- Ability to work comfortably at high heights using man lifts, truss, ladders, and catwalks
- Ability to work comfortable around special effects including, but not limited to: haze, strobe lights, lasers, etc.
