Job Title: Content Creation Intern
Location: Roanoke, VA - Berglund Center
Job Type: Part-Time / Unpaid
Reports To: Marketing Coordinator
Do you have a passion for sports, storytelling, and social media, with an eye for creating content?
We are looking for a creative and detail-focused Content Creation Intern to work alongside our Marketing Coordinator during the 2026-2027 season. This role offers hands-on experience in professional sports, digital content creation and assisting with game-day operations and fan engagement. This is an unpaid internship with an expected start date of October 16, 2026.
Key Responsibilities:
- Capture engaging vertical photo and video content before, during, and after games.
- Create content optimized for social media platforms, including Instagram Reels, TikTok, Facebook, and X (Twitter)
- Assist with the execution of fan experiences, including the Benchwarmer Experience and Locker Room Tours.
- Brainstorm creative content ideas that increase fan engagement and showcase the Rail Yard Dawgs brand.
- Assist with other game day responsibilities as needed (e.g., giveaways, fan interactions, supporting promo teams)
Qualifications:
- Currently pursuing or recently completed a degree in Marketing, Communications, Digital Media, Journalism, Sports Management, or a related field.
- Proficiency with social media platforms including Instagram, TikTok, Facebook and X.
- Strong understanding of visual storytelling and digital content creation.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced, live event environment.
- Positive, professional attitude and team-first mentality.
- Available for a minimum of 20 home games, including evenings and weekends.
- Knowledge of hockey is a plus, but not required.
Bonus Points For:
- Experience creating short-form, vertical content for social media.
- Have experience covering live sports or events.
