Group Sales Manager
The Peoria Rivermen are continuing to grow our team by seeking an energetic, creative, and results-driven Group Sales Manager to lead and grow one of the organization's most important revenue streams. This position serves as the department's lead resource for group sales strategy, program development, forecasting, training, and execution while maintaining responsibility for personal group sales production and supporting the overall success of the ticket sales team.
The ideal candidate is a proven sales professional who enjoys leading by example, developing innovative group experiences, mentoring others, and building long-term relationships throughout Central Illinois.
Primary Responsibilities
- Serve as the department's lead resource for all group sales initiatives, strategies, and execution.
- Develop and implement creative group sales programs that increase attendance and revenue.
- Establish group sales goals, forecasting, reporting, and performance tracking.
- Lead by example through consistent personal group ticket sales and revenue generation.
- Identify, prospect, and cultivate new group sales opportunities through outbound calls, networking, community involvement, referrals, and in-person meetings.
- Train, coach, and support ticket sales staff on group sales best practices, sales techniques, and prospecting strategies.
- Build customized experiences for schools, youth sports organizations, businesses, nonprofits, churches, and community groups.
- Maintain accurate customer records, sales pipelines, and reporting through HubSpot CRM.
- Utilize Ticketmaster to manage accounts, process orders, and ensure exceptional customer service.
- Analyze sales trends and customer data to identify growth opportunities and improve group sales performance.
- Assist in developing season-long group sales campaigns, specialty game promotions, and theme night initiatives.
- Provide exceptional customer service before, during, and after events to maximize retention and repeat business.
- Participate in game day responsibilities, community appearances, networking events, and other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree preferred or equivalent professional experience.
- 2–5 years of ticket sales, sports sales, or group sales experience.
- Previous leadership, supervisory, or mentoring experience is preferred.
- Experience with HubSpot CRM.
- Experience with Ticketmaster or similar ticketing platforms.
- Strong communication, presentation, and relationship-building skills.
- Highly organized with excellent time management and attention to detail.
- Creative thinker with the ability to develop unique sales programs and fan experiences.
- Self-motivated, competitive, and goal-oriented with a proven record of meeting or exceeding sales targets.
- Ability to work evenings, weekends, and holidays as required by the event schedule.
- Passion for sports, entertainment, and delivering exceptional fan experiences.
