Position Overview:
The Macon Mayhem is seeking an advanced, highly motivated, and responsible Creative Lead Intern to serve as the right-hand strategist for our marketing and creative operations. Unlike standard game-day execution roles, this is a comprehensive, paid internship designed for a student or recent graduate ready to take on true leadership responsibilities. You will lead weekday creative projects, establish visual branding, and step up as the primary manager of the creative team and social media channels during live home games when the Director is away as well as assist with some away games.

Goals:
- Executive Leadership Experience: Transition from an individual content creator to an active manager, overseeing a game-day creative team and making real-time editorial decisions.
- Long-Form & Strategic Project Management: Master the workflow of planning, designing, and executing weekly marketing campaigns from concept to completion.
- Advanced Brand Stewardship: Own and maintain the visual identity of a professional sports franchise across digital, print, and in-arena assets.
Duties & Responsibilities:

- Conceptualize and design requested graphics.
- Edit short-form feature videos using Adobe Creative Cloud.
- Participate in weekly collaboration meetings to brainstorm theme nights, promotional giveaways, and fan engagement strategies for socials.
Game-Day Leadership & Real-Time Management
- Serve as the primary on-site supervisor for the Game Day Production & Social Media team during select home games when the Director is absent or managing other arena operations. This will be the go-to person on game nights.
- Assist in directing volunteer and game-day interns (photographers, videographers, and runners) to ensure all key moments, fan interactions, and sponsor obligations are captured.
- Assist in reviewing and approving live content for brand consistency, tone, and accuracy under tight, instant deadlines.
- Other duties and responsibilities as deemed necessary by the Team.
Qualifications:
- Proficiency in the Adobe Creative Cloud suite, specifically Photoshop, Illustrator, and Premiere Pro or After Effects.
- Experience operating DSLR/Mirrorless cameras and mobile production gear for both photography and high-frame-rate video capture.
- Strong communication skills and the confidence to manage peers, delegate tasks, and solve problems independently in a high-pressure environment.
- Deep knowledge of social media platform algorithms, formats, and emerging creative trends (Reels, TikTok trends, and interactive stories).
- A strong passion for sports storytelling. Familiarity with hockey rules, terminology, and game flow is highly preferred.
- Ability to commit to consistent weekday office hours for projects, alongside working non-traditional hours (evenings, weekends, and holidays) aligned with the Macon Mayhem game schedule.

- Financial Compensation: This is a paid internship. Hourly rate will be discussed during the interview process, compliant with state and federal internship standards.
- Academic Credit: Compliant with university internship requirements; documentation and evaluation hours will be provided if requested.
