Position Overview
This position is responsible for servicing the team store of the Knoxville Ice Bears.
Shifts will begin at 4:30pm and end approximately at 11pm (some shifts will begin at 2pm or 3pm for early start games)
This is a part time, seasonal position and shifts will be in the evening on game days. Additional, flexible shifts will be available throughout the week for those needing to meet an hour requirement.
Timeline: October 2025 – April 2026 (or at the completion of Playoffs)
Intern Responsibilities
· Main responsibility is customer service including running the point of sale, greeting, answering questions, selling and engaging the fans.
· Responsible for being knowledgeable about merchandise assortment including features and benefits.
· Responsible for general store appearance, straightening and re-stocking the sales floor and storage room.
· Responsible for assisting managers and supervisors on various projects as needed.
· Responsible for being able to answer general questions about Knoxville Ice Bears, as well as current events in the building.
· Assist in jersey auctions.
Qualifications
· Working towards a four-year college degree or graduate degree or recent graduate (Retail and Merchandising Management preferred, but not required)
· Availability must be at a minimum, home games (no more than four games throughout the season are allowed to be missed). Nights, weekends, and holidays during the hockey season may be required.
· Able to be comfortable using Point of Sale software.
· Able to accurately handle cash.
· Ability to work as part of a team to achieve goals.
· Comfortable in a sales environment and able to assist customers.
· Must enjoy working in a fast-paced environment.
· Reliable, self-motivated, and ability to take initiative.
Compensation
This is a paid internship position. Interns will be compensated at an hourly rate of $7.25, in accordance with federal minimum wage guidelines. The internship is part-time, with flexible scheduling to accommodate academic commitments.
