The Knoxville Ice Bears are seeking an energetic, creative, and outgoing individual to serve as the team's mascot performer. This position is responsible for bringing the Ice Bears brand to life through entertaining interactions, crowd engagement, community appearances, and game day performances.
The ideal candidate is comfortable performing in front of large crowds, has strong non-verbal communication skills, and enjoys creating memorable experiences for fans of all ages. The mascot serves as one of the most visible representatives of the organization and plays a key role in enhancing the game day atmosphere and strengthening the team's connection with the community.
Duties & Responsibilities
- Perform as the Knoxville Ice Bears mascot during all assigned home games and team events
- Interact with fans throughout the arena before, during, and after games
- Participate in on-ice promotions, contests, skits, and entertainment elements
- Create memorable experiences through photo opportunities and fan engagement
- Assist with sponsor activations and promotional events
- Represent the Ice Bears at community appearances, school visits, parades, festivals, sponsor events, and charitable functions
- Work closely with the Game Operations team to develop new mascot routines, skits, and entertainment concepts
- Assist with social media content creation and promotional videos when requested
- Maintain professionalism while representing the organization both in and out of costume
- Help maintain the mascot costume, props, and related equipment
- Attend game day production meetings and rehearsals as necessary
Requirements & Qualifications
- High school senior, college student, recent graduate, or individual with relevant experience
- Strong physical stamina and ability to perform in a mascot costume for extended periods
- Ice skating experience preferred
- Comfortable performing in front of large crowds and engaging with fans of all ages
- Ability to communicate emotions, humor, and personality through body language and movement
- Previous experience in mascot performance, theater, dance, cheerleading, entertainment, or public performance is preferred but not required
- Must be available to work nights, weekends, and holidays
- Must be able to work the majority of the 30 regular-season home games plus playoffs
- Ability to lift and transport up to 25 pounds
- Reliable transportation and strong attendance record required
- Positive attitude, professionalism, and willingness to take direction
- Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced team environment
