The Knoxville Ice Bears are seeking an energetic, outgoing, and charismatic individual to serve as our Man in the Stands Game Day Host. This position is responsible for engaging fans throughout the game, conducting in-arena interviews, leading promotions, creating memorable fan experiences, and helping bring excitement and energy to every Ice Bears home game.
The ideal candidate is comfortable speaking in front of large crowds, thinking on their feet, and interacting with fans of all ages. Candidates should possess a strong stage presence, a positive attitude, and the ability to represent the Ice Bears organization in a professional and entertaining manner.
Duties & Responsibilities
- Serve as the in-game crowd host during Knoxville Ice Bears home games
- Conduct live fan interviews and contests throughout the arena
- Assist with execution of on-ice, concourse, and in-seat promotions
- Work closely with the Game Operations team and PA Announcer to ensure seamless execution of all entertainment elements
- Engage fans before, during, and after games to enhance the overall game day experience
- Assist with sponsor activations and promotional elements as needed
- Participate in pregame meetings and rehearsals
- Represent the Ice Bears at select community appearances, promotional events, and off-site activations
- Create excitement and maintain high energy levels throughout the event
- Adapt quickly to changing situations and live-event needs
- Assist with miscellaneous game day responsibilities as assigned
Requirements and Qualifications
- Strong public speaking and communication skills
- Must be highly charismatic, enthusiastic, and comfortable interacting with large crowds
- Excellent microphone presence and ability to think quickly in live-event situations
- Ability to entertain and engage fans of all ages
- Prior experience in emceeing, broadcasting, public speaking, performing, cheerleading, mascot programs, theater, or sports entertainment is preferred
- Must be able to work all 30 regular-season home games plus playoffs, which fall on nights, weekends, and holidays
- Must be able to work the majority of the 30 regular-season home games plus playoffs
- Reliable transportation and punctual attendance required
- Must be professional, coachable, and able to work effectively within a team environment
- Knowledge of hockey is preferred but not required
- Must be punctual, responsible, willing to work with a team, and assist staff members of all departments
- Ability to lift and transport a minimum of 25 lbs and stand or walk for long periods of time
