Position Overview
The Huntsville Havoc are seeking a highly motivated, organized, and energetic Operations Coordinator to support game operations and special event execution. This role is designed as a full-time, paid (monthly stipend) post-grad internship opportunity for individuals looking to build a career in sports management, event operations, and live entertainment. This position will run throughout the 2026–27 season (September through April).

The Operations Coordinator will play a key role in planning, executing, and enhancing the fan experience at Havoc home games and special events. This individual will work closely with multiple departments and serve as a primary point of contact for fans visiting the front office.

Key Responsibilities
Game & Event Operations
  • Assist in planning and executing all Havoc home games and select special events
  • Support creation and distribution of game scripts, timelines, and operational documents
  • Coordinate in-game elements including promotions, intermission activities, theme nights, and fan engagement features
  • Assist with execution of specialty jersey nights, auctions, and post-game experiences
  • Manage on-site logistics during games to ensure smooth operations
Auctions & Promotions
  • Help brainstorm creative theme night ideas and fan engagement concepts
  • Assist in building, organizing, and executing in-game and online auctions
  • Coordinate item preparation, display, fulfillment, and winner communication
  • Track auction inventory and support revenue-generating initiatives
Event Setup & Breakdown
  • Assist with arena and promotional setup prior to games and events
  • Coordinate signage, tables, auction displays, and activation areas
  • Participate in post-game tear-down and equipment organization
  • Ensure all event materials are properly stored and maintained
Front Office & Fan Engagement
  • Serve as the first point of contact for fans visiting the Havoc office
  • Sell single-game tickets via phone and in person
  • Provide outstanding customer service
  • Maintain a professional and welcoming front-office environment

Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree in Sports Management, Event Management, Marketing, Business, or related field preferred
  • Strong organizational and time-management skills
  • Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, live-event environment
  • Willingness to work nights, weekends, and holidays during hockey season
  • Creative thinker with strong attention to detail
  • Positive attitude and team-first mentality
  • Ability to lift and move event materials (up to 40 lbs)
  • Familiarity with Social Tables and Momentus Elite (preferred but not required)
