Position Overview
The Huntsville Havoc are seeking a highly motivated, organized, and energetic Fan Experience Coordinator to support game operations, mascot coordination, and fan engagement initiatives. This role is designed as a full-time, paid (monthly stipend) post-graduate internship opportunity for individuals looking to build a career in sports management, live event operations, and community engagement.

The Fan Experience Coordinator will play a key role in planning, executing, and enhancing the fan experience at Havoc home games, community events, and Kids Club activations. This individual will also serve as a primary point of contact for fans visiting the front office and assist in managing mascot appearances, ticket sales, and the Havoc Rewards App.

Key Responsibilities
Game Operations & Fan Experience
  • Assist in planning and executing all Havoc home games
  • Coordinate intermission entertainment, in-game promotions, and theme night elements
  • Help create and maintain a high-energy, engaging game atmosphere
  • Assist with game day set-up and post-game tear-down
  • Support specialty activations and post-game fan experiences
  • Work closely with promotions, production, and ticketing departments to ensure seamless execution
Mascot Coordination & Bookings
  • Manage mascot scheduling, community appearances, and bookings
  • Serve as primary point of contact for mascot logistics and communications
  • Assist with mascot game-night planning and performance flow
  • Coordinate confirmations, contracts (if applicable), and follow-up communication
  • Support mascot merchandise and promotional initiatives
Community Engagement
  • Assist with planning and executing community events and outreach initiatives
  • Represent the organization at local schools, sponsor activations, nonprofit events, and appearances
  • Serve as a professional and positive “face of the franchise” within the community
  • Help strengthen relationships with local partners and organizations
Havoc Rewards App Operations
  • Learn and manage the ins and outs of the Havoc Rewards App
  • Fulfill rewards orders and maintain inventory
  • Assist fans with app questions and troubleshooting
  • Support initiatives to increase engagement and participation
Kids Club & Membership Engagement
  • Assist in planning and executing Kids Club events
  • Coordinate membership package assembly and distribution
  • Communicate with parents and members regarding benefits and event details
  • Support check-in and event management on Kids Club game days
Front Office, Ticket Sales & Fan Services
  • Serve as the first point of contact for fans visiting the Havoc office
  • Sell single-game tickets and assist with ticket inquiries via phone and in person
  • Provide outstanding customer service across all communication channels
  • Maintain a professional and welcoming front-office environment
  • Assist other departments as needed during peak periods
Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree required (Sports Management, Event Management, Marketing, Business, or related field preferred)
  • Strong organizational and time-management skills
  • Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, live-event environment
  • Willingness to work nights, weekends, and holidays during hockey season
  • Creative thinker with strong attention to detail
  • Energetic personality with excellent interpersonal skills
  • Positive attitude and team-first mentality
  • Ability to lift and move event materials (up to 40 lbs)
Ideal Candidate
This role is ideal for a recent graduate seeking hands-on experience in professional sports. The ideal candidate is proactive, adaptable, and excited about being directly involved in creating memorable fan experiences both inside the arena and throughout the community. This position offers broad exposure to game operations, mascot management, fan engagement strategies, community outreach, ticket sales, and front office operations within a professional hockey organization.
