Reports To: Social Media Coordinator

Position Overview:

The Digital Media Intern will play a key role in capturing content that brings the Fayetteville Marksmen game-day experience to life. This intern will work closely with the Social Media Coordinator and creative team to document in-game action, fan engagement, and sponsored elements for use across the Marksmen’s digital platforms and external communications. This is a hands-on role for a creative, detail-oriented individual looking to gain experience in sports media production and digital storytelling.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Capture photos and videos during home games.
  • Document game coverage, crowd reactions, player interactions, and behind-the-scenes moments.
  • Highlight sponsored elements, promotions, and activations for branding and partner fulfillment.
  • Provide content to the Social Media Coordinator in real-time for in-game coverage.
  • Contribute to the content archive, tagging and storing digital assets for future use.
  • Collaborate with the creative department to brainstorm and execute new content ideas.

Qualifications:

  • Pursuing or recently completed a degree in Communications, Media, Marketing, Film, or related field.
  • Experience with photography and/or videography (camera or smartphone) required.
  • Understanding of social media platforms and trends (Instagram, TikTok, X/Twitter, Facebook).
  • Strong attention to detail and ability to meet tight deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
  • Comfortable working nights, weekends, and holidays during the hockey season.
  • Can stand for long periods of time and can lift 25 lbs. or more.
  • Passion for hockey, sports, or live events is strongly preferred.

Additional Information:

  • This is position can be used for course credit, if applicable.
  • Availability on all home game days is required.
  • Interns will gain hands-on experience in sports digital media, working directly with a professional hockey creative team.
