The Fayetteville Marksmen, members of the Southern Professional Hockey League (SPHL), are seeking a creative and motivated individual to join our Marketing & Creative Services team. This internship provides hands-on experience in professional sports, offering opportunities to create content, tell compelling stories, and engage thousands of hockey fans throughout the season.
Whether your passion is graphic design, photography, videography, social media, or digital marketing, you'll gain valuable real-world experience while building a professional portfolio alongside an experienced front office.
Position Summary
The Creative Content Intern will assist in producing engaging digital and in-arena content that supports the Fayetteville Marksmen brand. This role is ideal for students pursuing careers in graphic design, marketing, communications, digital media, photography, videography, journalism, or sports management.
Interns will contribute to creative campaigns, social media, game-day coverage, and promotional events while working directly with the Director of Social Media & Marketing.
Responsibilities
Creative Services
- Design graphics for social media, digital advertising, email marketing, and promotional campaigns.
- Assist with print and digital marketing materials.
- Maintain visual brand standards across all creative projects.
- Brainstorm creative concepts for theme nights, promotions, and fan engagement campaigns.
Content Creation
- Capture photo and video content during games, practices, community appearances, and special events.
- Edit short-form videos for Instagram Reels, TikTok, Facebook, and X.
- Create behind-the-scenes content featuring players, coaches, and fans.
- Assist in producing promotional videos throughout the season.
Social Media
- Assist with live game coverage across social media platforms.
- Capture and post real-time content during home games.
- Monitor current social media trends and recommend new content ideas.
- Help grow engagement through creative storytelling.
Game Day
- Work alongside the Marketing Department to execute game-day marketing initiatives.
- Assist photographers, videographers, and other creative staff throughout home games.
- Capture sponsor activations, fan experiences, and in-game entertainment.
- Support additional marketing and creative projects as assigned.
Preferred Qualifications
- Currently enrolled in or recently graduated from a college or university.
- Pursuing a degree in Graphic Design, Marketing, Communications, Digital Media, Journalism, Sports Management, Photography, Videography, or a related field.
- Working knowledge of Adobe Creative Cloud (Photoshop, Illustrator, Premiere Pro preferred).
- Experience creating content for social media platforms.
- Strong communication and organizational skills.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment.
- Passion for sports, storytelling, and creative content.
Schedule
- Flexible weekday office hours based around class schedules.
- Availability for Fayetteville Marksmen home games, including evenings and weekends.
- Occasional community events and promotional appearances.

Compensation
