Position Overview
The Supervisor, Barracuda Operations will manage the preparation, scheduling and presenting of game entertainment activities for all AHL hockey games and events. They will oversees all pre-game, in-game and post-game content including videos, graphics, music, statistics, lighting and live elements. This role will also act as an office manager.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Responsible for creating and maintaining proper arena atmosphere for San Jose Barracuda
- Responsible for all Barracuda game day event operations
- Manages all game day scripts involving production, maintenance, and processes
- Manage and maintain the Fan Experience Package (FEP) calendar, guidelines, deadlines, email templates, and Formstack submissions
- Serves as liaison between Ops Team and Arena operations staff
- Manage and supervise the Barracuda Assistant Producer, ensuring seamless production workflow
- Manages and schedules game day employees including Riptide, public address announcer, music coordinator, and arena personality
- Collaborates with producer and control room for every game to ensure a positive fan experience
- Arranges for appearances by individuals/groups, schedules participants and contestants for on-ice entertainment
- Plan and oversee concourse activations
- Manages videoboard plan with Partnership Activation Supervisor and directs operation of board during events
- Partner and communicate with external vendors to enhance game-day fan experiences
- Manage and coordinate schedules and training materials for all part-time staff, and outside contractors such as national anthem performers
- Assist in planning and executing Cuda Pro Experience days in collaboration with Ticket Sales & Service Director and Assistant Producer
- Manage and coordinate fiscal year budget for game presentation
- Support daily office operations and cross-department workflows to maintain efficient business and event execution, including maintaining office supply inventory and ordering as needed
- Perform other tasks and projects as required
Minimum Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent
- 4+ years of professional experience
- Supervisory experience strongly preferred
- Must possess strong organizational skills and attention to detail
- Proficient in Microsoft Office applications, including, Outlook, Word and Excel
- Ability to work on projects and maintain confidential information
- Willingness and flexibility to work long hours, including nights, weekends and/or on holidays
- Ability to juggle a large number of time-critical projects, plans and priorities and to coordinate smoothly with other departments.
- Ability to use independent judgment and discretion to make and implement decisions after evaluating various courses of action.
- Ability to maintain professional image at all times is critical
- The person in this position needs to traverse the exterior of the arena, the arena concourse, club, and penthouse levels, and ascend/descend stairs.
- It is imperative that you have the ability to work independently without supervision, be self-directed and demonstrate initiative.
- Ability to utilize a computer for extended periods of time, communicate via phone and email with a variety of individuals, lift up to 15 lb., physically navigate to and through SSE facilities during events.
