Pay Range:                           The pay range for this role is $28.85 - $31.00 per hour

Actual base pay will be determined based on permissible factors such as transferable skills, work experience, market demands and primary work location. The base pay range provided is subject to change and may be modified in the future.

Position Overview
The Sharks Ice Operations Coordinator watches over the facility and supervises employees in the absence of the Operations Manager. This role requires knowing the limits of jurisdiction, and when to refer and defer to higher management. Operations Coordinator will conduct themselves with the highest level of integrity while providing our guests with a world class recreational experience.

  • Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
  • Leads the effort for monthly employee scheduling, gathers availability, creates schedule templates, and schedules shifts to cover operational needs. 
  • Coordinates employee shifts to ensure that they are sufficiently staffed with highly qualified employees. 
  • Effectively leads and delegates all essential operations functions to ensure the highest level of customer service and facility performance & appearance.
  • Facilitates applicant screening, interviews, and new hire Basic Training to ensure all policies and procedures are taught and modeled to become the core to an employee's success. 
  • Ensures that all employees are practicing excellent customer service, and that all policies and procedures are properly implemented through exceptional coaching and mentoring.
  • Responsible for supervising maintenance of the ice surface, including proper use of edger and correct resurfacing techniques.
  • Coordinates with the Ice & Maintenance Leads, evaluates maintenance and repairs on a daily basis.
  • Oversees public skate operations and maintains rental skates, boots, & blades.
  • Leads the frontline operations of tournaments, events, private ice rental and parties.
  • Supervises POS operations and reconciliations, bank deposits, and making change. 
  • Conducts inventory of janitorial and first aid & AED supplies, orders supplies needed.
  • Understands and effectively communicates emergency procedures for equipment and evacuation plan
  • Ensures the overall cleanliness of the facility.
  • Collaborates with other organizational departments (Security, Building Services, Parking, Event Presentation, etc.) to ensure mutual needs are fulfilled and events run smoothly.  
  • Contributes to the Employee Performance Ratings quarterly and annual reviews.
  • Performs additional duties as required.

Minimum Qualifications 
  • Must posses 2+ years of relevant experience
  • At least one year of supervisory experience 
  • AA Degree or equivalent experience preferred
  • Demonstrated ability to work effectively with a broad spectrum of key contacts including employees, instructors, user groups, parents, coaches, professional associates, athletes, and the community at large.
  • Good oral and written communication skills.
  • Must pass legally required background check.
  • Must be able to successfully perform the essential functions of this job that are physically demanding.
  • Bilingual Speaker (Spanish) Preferred
  • Ability to work at least one weekend day is an absolute must

Physical Requirements 
The following tasks must be completed with or without accommodation. 
  • Ability to sit, stand and utilize a computer for extended periods of time
  • Communicate via phone and email with a variety of individuals
  • Ability to bend at the waist, reach overhead and lift up to 15 lbs with or without accommodation
  • Physically navigate stairs and catwalks at SSE facilities during normal work hours and events with or without accommodation
  • Ability to work occasional extended hours including nights, weekends, holidays (all with advance notice)
  • May be required to travel to other company locations  
  • May be required to attend conference, events, and training sessions within Bay Area or in- or out-of-state locations.
