Pay Range:                         The range for this role is $75,000-$85,000 per year plus variable

Actual base pay will be determined based on permissible factors such as transferable skills, work experience, market demands and primary work location. The base pay range provided is subject to change and may be modified in the future. 

Position Overview 

Team Teal is seeking to hire a Group Sales Manager that embraces all aspects of our principles.  Key responsibilities include growing group ticket sales revenue by way of strategic sales efforts for the Sharks, Barracuda and SAP Center Arena Events.  The primary responsibility of this individual is to manage the group sales and service staff, while managing a book of high value group accounts. This role will also be tasked with developing account executives and develop a recruitment pipeline for future potential backfills.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities  

  • Build and lead a group sales team of 3-5 account executives at any given time.
  • Train and develop reps to sell group sales programs and theme nets, by supporting on calls and appointments.
  • Establish and maintain active communication with high value group-sales accounts.
  • Build relationships with other middle managers to provide support in all areas of the ticket sales business such as Inside Sales development, full season equivalent sales and season ticket retention.
  • Help to identify new group sales opportunities in the Bay Area market.
  • Hold weekly one-on-ones with current account executive staff, while interviewing, hiring and on-boarding new members of staff.
  • Provide coaching, guidance and performance management for current Group Sales Account Executives.
  • Help Sr. Director to set individual and overall team yearly targets, as well as group pricing YOY.
  • Maintain group pipeline document for accurate representation of game over game projections for senior leadership to reference.
  • Assist with fan experience and other game day operations, as necessary.
  • Perform additional tasks and projects, as requested. 

Minimum Qualifications  

  • A minimum of 4+ years of experience in an Account Executive role. 
  • Proven ability to develop staff and provide coaching and mentorship in a position of leadership
  • Bachelor’s degree is required, preferably in sports management, business, marketing, or related field. Advanced degree is a plus but is not required. 
  • Proven track record of sales excellence and development of client relationships in the sports industry. 
  • Exhibit a positive attitude, coachability and exceptional work ethic. 
  • Ability to work independently without supervision, be self-directed and demonstrate initiative.  
  • Strong people skills with the ability to create an inclusive and positive working environment. 
  • Exhibit good judgement and decision-making skills. 
  • Flexibility to work weekends, nights and holidays as required by schedule of events.  
  • Exhibit good judgment and decision-making skills, as well as ability to manage your own time and implement your own schedule. 
  • Advanced level of understanding of Ticketmaster Archtics ticketing platform and CRM systems.  

Physical Requirements  

  • Ability to sit, stand and utilize a computer for extended periods of time  
  • Communicate via phone and email with a variety of individuals  
  • Ability to bend at the waist, reach overhead and lift up to 15 lbs. with or without accommodation  
  • Physically navigate stairs and catwalks at SSE facilities during normal work hours and events with or without accommodation 
  • Ability to work occasional extended hours including nights, weekends, holidays (all with advance notice)  
  • May be required to travel to other company locations  
  • May be required to attend conference, events, and training sessions within Bay Area or in- or out-of-state locations.
