Actual base pay will be determined based on permissible factors such as transferable skills, work experience, market demands and primary work location. The base pay range provided is subject to change and may be modified in the future.

Position Overview:  

The Content Engagement & Social Coordinator is part of our vision to pioneer the future of sports and entertainment and plays a key role in bringing Sharks Sports & Entertainment’s (SSE) content strategy to life. Reporting to the Manager, Content Engagement & Social, this role is responsible for the creation, publishing, and optimization of digital content across SSE brands and platforms, including the San Jose Sharks of the National Hockey League.

This position is a hands-on storyteller who executes against established content priorities, editorial standards, and campaign strategies, helping shape how fans and customers experience the brand across social media, web, and mobile touchpoints. The Content Engagement & Social Coordinator works collaboratively across Brand and Revenue teams to deliver timely, engaging, and performance-driven content that supports audience growth, engagement, and business objectives.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities: 
  • Content Creation & Storytelling
    • Create and publish engaging, platform-native content across social media, web, and mobile channels, aligned to SSE’s content strategy, tone of voice, and storytelling priorities. 
    • Execute against content themes, campaigns, and editorial plans developed by the Manager, Content Engagement & Social and other members of Team Teal.
    • Write compelling, on-brand copy tailored to specific platforms and audiences, ensuring consistency and clarity across all touchpoints. 
    • Capture and develop real-time content during live events (e.g., Sharks games, concerts, community activations), contributing to dynamic, in-the-moment storytelling. 

  • Publishing & Channel Management
    • Support the execution of the daily and long-term content calendar, ensuring timely and accurate publishing across all channels. 
    • Maintain an active and responsive presence across social platforms, engaging with fans and monitoring conversations as appropriate. 
    • Uphold editorial standards and quality control by reviewing content for accuracy, brand alignment, and effectiveness prior to publication. 

  • Collaboration & Production
    • Partner closely with Creative & Production (graphic design, video, photography) to develop high-quality content that aligns with strategic objectives. 
    • Collaborate with cross-functional teams (Marketing, Ticketing, Partnerships, Community, etc.) to support integrated campaigns and initiatives through content. 
    • Build relationships with players, coaches, alumni, and internal stakeholders to support authentic storytelling and content access. 

  • Performance & Optimization
    • Track and analyze content performance across platforms, identifying trends and insights to inform future content decisions. 
    • Provide regular reporting and feedback to the Manager, Content Engagement & Social, contributing to ongoing optimization of content strategy. 
    • Stay informed on social media trends, platform updates, and emerging formats, proactively applying new ideas to enhance engagement and reach.

Qualifications:  
  • 2–4 years of professional experience in digital content, social media, or marketing; experience in sports and entertainment is a plus.
  • Bachelor’s degree in a related field or equivalent experience.
  • Proven ability to create engaging digital content that resonates with audiences and aligns with brand strategy.
  • Strong understanding of major social media platforms (Instagram, TikTok, X, Facebook, LinkedIn, YouTube) and their best practices.
  • Experience with content publishing systems (CMS) and familiarity with analytics tools.
  • Working knowledge of Adobe Creative Suite (Photoshop, Premiere, Illustrator, etc.).
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to adapt tone across platforms and audiences.
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail, with the ability to manage multiple projects in a fast-paced environment.
  • Demonstrated ability to collaborate across teams and contribute to a positive, solutions-oriented culture.

Physical Requirements
  • Ability to sit, stand and utilize a computer for extended periods of time
  • Communicate via phone and email with a variety of individuals
  • Ability to bend at the waist, reach overhead and lift up to 15 lbs with or without accommodation
  • Physically navigate stairs and catwalks at SSE facilities during normal work hours and events with or without accommodation
  • Ability to work occasional extended hours including nights, weekends, holidays (all with advance notice)
  • May be required to travel to other company locations  
  • May be required to attend conference, events, and training sessions within Bay Area or in- or out-of-state locations.
