Position Overview
Reporting to the Manager, Marketing Programs, the Brand Coordinator is instrumental in delivering engaging and unforgettable entertainment experiences for fans of Sharks Sports & Entertainment. This role blends the excitement of sports with the dynamic worlds of art, music, and culture to create moments that resonate beyond the game.
As a key contributor to the brands of the San Jose Sharks, SAP Center, Sharks Ice, and Tech CU Arena, the Brand Coordinator will collaborate with key growth audiences, community groups, influencers, and city / government organizations to create impactful experiences. This role is focused on driving fan engagement and expanding the SSE fan pipeline while making a positive difference in the community. This role will collaborate closely with all departments within Sharks Sports & Entertainment, leveraging creativity and strong organizational skills to deliver programs that align with our mission of providing world-class sports and entertainment experiences.
Essential Duties & Responsibilities
- Coordinate the planning and execution of Sharks Celebration, Theme, and Promotional Nights ensuring alignment with the overall brand strategy and serving as a passionate advocate for our diverse audiences, both within the organization and throughout the community. This role requires strong cross-functional collaboration to deliver a consistent and seamless fan experience across all departments and touchpoints.
- Assist with coordination with Brand outreach activations, including the Sharks Around The Bay initiative, collaborating with partners and internal teams to activate brand experiences in the community.
- Assist with the coordination of Community Connections mural projects, working with artists, community groups, and internal teams to bring local stories to life.
- Facilitate specialty art and logo initiatives, helping translate creative concepts into fan-facing designs and experiences.
- Act as a liaison between Sharks Sports & Entertainment and local community groups, fostering meaningful partnerships and engagement opportunities.
- Support the implementation of the Stick to Fitness program powered by Kaiser Permanente, working with schools and partners to promote healthy habits through hockey.
- Oversee day-to-day coordination and growth of Youth Marketing Initiatives including the FINatical Kids Club and Sharks Crib Club presented by Kaiser Permanente, ensuring timely communication and delivery of membership benefits including curated content and experiences.
- Serve as a supporting point of contact for the Sharks and Barracuda Street Team presented by Coca-Cola, supporting scheduling, activation logistics, and brand representation.
- Coordinate and support marketing analytics efforts, helping track campaign performance and inform data-driven decisions.
- Perform additional duties as assigned, supporting the Marketing Programs team in delivering best-in-class fan and community experiences.

- Comfortable working in a fast-paced environment with shifting priorities and tight timelines.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite and other standard digital tools; tech-savvy with electronic devices.
- Clean driving record and ability to travel locally as needed.
- Ability to lift up to 100 lbs when supporting event setups and activations.
- Willingness to work flexible hours, including evenings, weekends, and holidays as required by event and team schedules.
- Ability to work extended hours at a computer, communicate effectively via phone and email, and physically navigate event and arena spaces.
- Demonstrated sound judgment, decision-making, and strategic thinking skills.

Education & Experience:
- Bachelor’s degree in Marketing, Communications, Sports Management, Business, or a related field required.
- 1–3 years of relevant experience in marketing, events, brand activations, or community engagement, preferably within sports, entertainment, or lifestyle industries.
- Experience supporting or coordinating multi-channel marketing campaigns, fan engagement programs, or event operations is strongly preferred.
- Background working with cross-functional teams, vendors, and/or external partners is a plus.
- Excellent communication skills – face to face and written
- Passion for sports, entertainment, and creating memorable fan experiences.
Physical Requirements
- Ability to sit, stand and utilize a computer for extended periods of time
- Communicate via phone and email with a variety of individuals
- Ability to bend at the waist, reach overhead and lift up to 15 lbs with or without accommodation
- Physically navigate stairs and catwalks at SSE facilities during normal work hours and events with or without accommodation
- Ability to work occasional extended hours including nights, weekends, holidays (all with advance notice)
- May be required to travel to other company locations
- May be required to attend conferences, events, and training sessions within the Bay Area or other in- or out-of-state locations.
