Role Summary
The Seattle Kraken are looking for a creative motion graphics designer to join the Kraken Creative Dept. This motion graphics producer will be a major contributor and will be responsible for concepting, creating, and managing content that will be displayed in Climate Pledge Arena and all other distribution outlets such as our TV Broadcast and social media. This position specializes in Adobe After Effects, Cinema 4D, and experience with Ross Xpression and DAK Show Control is a plus.  

This candidate will focus on building and developing various graphics packages to provide the most dynamic content for each medium. This role should be passionate about graphics and animation, have a positive attitude, and produce quality content packages end-to-end with minimal oversight. You will need to know how to create stand-alone animations as well as collaborating with editors to integrate motion graphics into video packages. 

The Responsibilities will include but are not limited to:

  • Be one of the visionary creatives in our organization
  • Create content while ensuring consistency by following company brand, partner brands, quality, and legal standards.
  • Fulfill both internal and external video requests 
  • Collaborate with a group of creatives.
  • Oversee, create and edit multiple projects simultaneously
  • Work in conjunction with outside partners on Seattle Kraken and partner integrated brand content
  • Represent the Kraken at industry events and conferences

Qualifications

  • 6+ years of motion experience required
  • Working knowledge of Adobe After Effects, Photoshop, and Illustrator.
  • You organize your files and layers in Projects and Folders.
    Able to work on both PC and Mac.
  • Prepares files to work with a myriad of screen configurations and a multi-channel environment
  • Knowledgeable about various 2D and 3D styles and techniques
  • Candidate should be nimble, calm under pressure, able to multi-task, and wear many hats when necessary
  • Strong strategic thinking, confidence, keen eye for detail, grammar, and style with an understanding of music and popular culture
  • Must be able to manage a fast-paced workload 
  • Candidate must be flexible in working hours including nights, weekends, and holidays when needed.
    • Our schedules are not typical, games are usually evenings and weekends, holidays etc...
  • Ability to influence, inspire, and motivate at all levels within an organization
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills, with an ability to present and communicate new ideas and concepts
  • Extremely organized and detail-oriented, resourceful, and able to handle multiple projects simultaneously
  • A high degree of personal integrity and consistently put the interests of the organization first

Preferred Experience & Skills:

  • Unreal Engine (& Project Avalanche) Experience
  • Any SideFX Houdini or JangaFX Liquigen experience
  • After Effects integration with ExtendScript / Python.
  • Creating and updating content with Ross Xpression, and Daktronics.
  • 2+ years of TV, game operations, and/or brand experience as a creative visionary in a world-class, global, multi-channel post-production environment for Sports Entertainment
  • NHL experience a plus
  • Asset Management experience a plus
  • Project Management experience a plus
  • Video shooting and editing capabilities a plus
  • Control room experience a plus

Total Rewards Package:

  • Compensation:
    • In accordance with Washington's Equal Pay and Opportunity Act, the anticipated starting salary for this role is $100k. The full salary band for this level is $100,000 - $110,000. Actual base pay will depend on employee experience and other job-related factors permitted by law.

Working Conditions:

  • Out of town travel is very rare, we sometimes go down to the arena before a game day.
    And sometimes we’ll travel for a video shoot or to see an away teams presentation.
  • Potential Travel (<10% travel): May be required to travel. Trips may require air travel and/or overnight stay away from home for one or more nights.
  • Must be able to work a flexible schedule inclusive of weekends, nights and holidays required
