Position Summary:

The Seattle Kraken Motion Graphics Intern will collaborate with the Brand and Production teams to create and refresh animated content for the upcoming season. This includes videos used in the arena for game presentation, social media content, and TV broadcast graphics.

In this role, you will work with Game Presentation, Marketing, and Broadcast teams to ensure all videos and content meet their needs while maintaining Kraken brand standards. This role is primarily based at our Northgate offices, with occasional work at Climate Pledge Arena in downtown Seattle for testing and implementation. The ideal candidate is adaptable, highly organized, creatively driven, and loves how things move. Project organization is critical so revisions can be handled smoothly and the team can communicate clearly and efficiently.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Create, organize, and maintain motion graphics Project Files.
  • Assist in developing new animated content for in-arena, TV broadcast, and digital platforms.
  • Update and refresh existing animations to align with evolving brand needs.
  • Participate in creative reviews and execute revisions efficiently.
  • Communicate project timelines, status updates, and technical needs clearly across teams.
  • Test content at Climate Pledge Arena and assist with implementation adjustments as needed.
  • Other duties as assigned.

What You Will Learn:

  • How to animate in the Kraken Brand standards.
  • How to work with multiple teams in a sports organization environment.
  • How to animate different outlets effectively. The arena atrium, ribbons, and social posts each have unique content, layout, and timing requirements.
  • How to work with other motion designers and work on project files from different starting points.
  • Techniques to animate efficiency and effectively.
  • How to time manage different requests in a fast-paced environment.

Required Experience & Qualifications:

  • Working level experience with Adobe After Effects, and Photoshop.
  • Some experience with a 3D application, Maxon Cinema4D preferred.
  • Comfortable working on both Mac and PC systems.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills, with an expert ability to present and communicate new ideas and concepts.
  • Extremely organized and detail oriented, resourceful, quick learner and able to handle multiple projects simultaneously.
  • Able to change the scope of a project when a timeline changes.
  • A high degree of personal integrity and consistently put the interests of the organization first.
  • Must be a fierce communicator and cross-organizational collaborator. 

Compensation & Perks:

  • In accordance with Washington’s Equal Pay and Opportunity Act, the pay range for the position is $21.50-$22.50/hr. Actual base pay will depend on the employee’s experience and other job-related factors permitted by law.

        Working Conditions:

        • This role is based on-site in our Seattle office and requires work to be performed in person. However, we do value flexibility as the business will allow and offer occasional opportunities to work from home.
        • This role will work approximately 20-30 hours per week. Hours may fluctuate based on school schedule, work assigned, etc.
        • Must be able to work a flexible schedule inclusive of weekends, nights and holidays required.
        • Frequent bending, lifting 15-20 pounds, sitting, exposure to multiple external elements, extensive walking through the building including inclines and stairs.
        • Must have transportation to and from events.
