Position Summary
The Merchandise Operations Specialist serves as the Professional Women’s Hockey League’s on-site merchandise representative within their assigned market, acting as the primary liaison between the League Merchandise team and the local venue merchandise partner. This role is responsible for ensuring inventory accuracy, operational excellence, and consistent execution of league merchandising standards across venue, gameday, and community retail activations. The pay range for this position is $27.00 to $35.00 USD per hour.

Key Duties & Responsibilities
Serve as the primary merchandise liaison between the PWHL Merchandise team and the local venue retail partner; manage inventory accuracy and replenishment across venue, storage, and event locations; coordinate merchandise readiness and execution for every home game; partner with the Team Director and Merchandise Event Lead to plan and execute community merchandise activations; and maintain league visual merchandising and retail presentation standards.

Required Qualifications
  • 2–4 years of experience in retail operations, inventory management, merchandising, sports, or live event operations; strong understanding of inventory management principles, retail operations, and point-of-sale systems; excellent communication and relationship-building abilities; ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced, customer-focused environment; ability to regularly lift and move merchandise weighing up to 30 pounds.
  • Flexibility to work evenings, weekends, and travel as required 
  • This position is based in the United States. Applicants must be legally authorized to work in the United States on a full-time basis. The PWHL does not provide visa sponsorship for this role.

Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience in sports, entertainment, venue operations, or high-volume retail environments; knowledge of visual merchandising and retail presentation standards; experience executing community events or brand activations; passion for women’s professional sports and growing the game through exceptional fan experiences and community engagement.
  • Flexibility to work evenings, weekends, and travel as required 

Flexibility & Travel
This is an on-site, in-person role. Candidate must be available to work evenings, weekends, holidays, and gamedays, including local travel for off-site merchandise and community events.
