POSITION SUMMARY:

The Professional Women’s Hockey League is seeking an experienced and passionate individual for our open Senior Director, Business Analytics position. This position is an integral part of the leadership team and oversees the PWHL’s data infrastructure and business analytics efforts. The Senior Director, Business Analytics will work closely with the VP, Team Business Operations and SVP, Business Operations, and all of the business units, including marketing, ticket sales, sponsorship, merchandise, finance, and broadcast to manage and monitor results, review growth opportunities, and lead process improvement initiatives.

DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:

Manage the organization’s business data infrastructure and business intelligence reporting.
Manage integrated data systems, including CRM, surveying platforms, and other software as developed or licensed.
Organize, analyze, and present data from ticket sales and operations, merchandise sales, digital media and marketing interaction, broadcast, third party sources, corporate partnerships, and other business areas.
Synthesize statistical models, including lead scoring and churn prediction, to help optimize customer acquisition and retention efforts.
Help drive adoption of new technologies (i.e. points of sale, AI software, CRM plug-ins, sales operations platforms) through reporting and product management.
Create and manage quality control standards and checks for data and reporting.
Assist in sales planning and forecasting across varying business functions.
Evaluate opportunities to provide executives with strategic recommendations and alternatives on critical business initiatives.
Participate in RFPs and negotiations with venues, broadcasters, and sponsors, as applicable.
Research, analyze and make recommendations on administrative, management and procedural practices and other complex business problems.
Analyze, evaluate, and integrate business processes and procedures.
Support all units with business analytical consulting as requested.
Work with key stakeholders to build out action items / business plans that support the analytics and drives both league and team business.
Other duties as assigned.

QUALIFICATION REQUIREMENTS:

Bachelor’s degree in business administration, Statistics, Economics, Mathematics, Operations Research, or a closely related field.
Minimum five years’ work experience in finance, statistics, business consulting, or related field.

SKILLS, ABILITIES & OTHER ATTRIBUTES:

Excellent financial aptitude, analytical, business acumen, problem solving and leadership skills.
Familiarity and good judgment with a broad range of methodologies and tools, such as exploratory data manipulation and analysis, regression analysis, forecasting models, simulation, probability models, and optimization.
Advanced knowledge of any of the following is required: Python, R, SQL, Tableau, Excel.
Demonstrated ability to successfully design and implement cross-functional projects.
Ability to perform duties independently under general, minimal supervision with specific assignments.
Strong financial modeling and analysis skills.
Strategic thinker with the ability to align financial initiatives with business goals.
Excellent communication skills, both written and oral, with the ability to collaborate and influence stakeholders internally and externally.
Self-motivated with a strong initiative to drive continuous improvement.
Possess effective computer skills: Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook, etc.).
Basic understanding of organizational structure, goals, and mission
Knowledge of both U.S. and Canadian protocols a plus.
Willingness to work nights and weekends when necessary.
