Position Summary
The Manager, Team Hockey Operations is a central operational partner supporting the day-to-day functions of assigned teams within the PWHL’s single-entity structure. Reporting to the Director, Team Hockey Operations, this role ensures consistency, compliance, and efficiency across teams while partnering closely with team personnel and cross-functional departments to streamline workflows and uphold League standards. The Manager plays a key role in advancing the League’s broader organizational goals through proactive, detail-oriented support.

Position Summary

Reporting to the Director, Team Hockey Operations, this role ensures consistency, compliance, and efficiency across teams while partnering closely with team personnel and cross-functional departments to streamline workflows and uphold League standards. The Manager plays a key role in advancing the League’s broader organizational goals through proactive, detail-oriented support.
Key Duties & Responsibilities
- Serve as a central operational lead for assigned teams, supporting administrative, logistical, and team operations functions in partnership with the Director, Team Hockey Operations.
- Act as a primary point of contact and problem-solver for Team Services, Hockey Operations, and Equipment Managers across assigned teams.
- Manage team-related administrative processes, including invoice approvals, credit card expense oversight, vendor onboarding, contractor management, and rental agreements.
- Oversee the player per diem process through the League’s digital platform, including player profile management, request approvals, and seasonal financial projections.
- Support team travel logistics, including player per diems, rental agreements, and in-travel support.
- Provide administrative support within Teamworks Hub and partner with Finance, Legal, and People & Culture to execute key cross-functional processes.
- Maintain and continuously improve organizational systems, including SharePoint resources, filing structures, and team operations documentation.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Sport Management, or a related field, or equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Two or more years of experience in professional or elite-level sports team administration, operations, or a related role.
- Demonstrated experience managing administrative processes such as vendor onboarding, contract coordination, and expense approvals.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite, SharePoint, Teamworks, and financial management tools.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills and the ability to manage cross-functional communication across multiple departments.
- Ability to handle confidential information with discretion and professionalism.
- Legally authorized to work in the United States or Canada.
- Flexibility to work evenings, weekends, and travel as required.
Preferred Qualifications
- Prior experience working within a single-entity sports league structure.
- Experience supporting teams or operations across the United States and Canada, including familiarity with cross-border travel logistics.
- Hands-on experience with Teamworks Hub or comparable team operations platforms.
- Experience supporting elite-level women’s sports or working in a startup, growth-stage, or rapidly evolving organization.
Flexibility & Travel
Candidate must be able to work remotely from the United States or Canada and be available to travel as needed in support of assigned teams and League operations.
Compensation Range
$72,000-$85,000 USD / $95,000-$115,000 CAD
