The Professional Women’s Hockey League is seeking an experience and passionate individual for the role of Coordinator, Player Safety. The Coordinator, Player Safety will report to the Associate Manager, Player Safety and is responsible for monitoring and noting in-game incidents which may require the imposition of supplemental discipline. This role requires collaboration with various internal stakeholders to promote a safe playing environment and enforcement of the PWHL Official Rules.  


DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Monitor, note and store clips of any relevant on-ice activity for incidents that may require action by the Player Safety Committee  
  • Assist in maintaining records and documentation of incidents  
  • Assist in preparing presentations for key stakeholders as delegated 
  •  Work closely with Player Safety Committee to address safety concerns and promote a culture of safety  


QUALIFICATION REQUIREMENTS:      

  • 1-2 years of experience in player safety, officiating, hockey operations or league-setting preferred 

 
SKILLS, ABILITIES & OTHER ATTRIBUTES: 

  • Strong organizational skills with attention to detail 
  • Ability to take direction and work collaboratively within a team environment 
  • Excellent time-management and communication skills 
  • Flexibility to work evenings, weekends, and holidays during peak seasons or special events and travel as required 
  • Candidate must be able to work remotely and requires a high-speed internet connection 
  • Strong hockey acumen and familiarity with the PWHL 
  • Proficiency in PWHL rules and their application 
  • Proficiency in MS Office Suite, video editing, and applicable software 
 

COMPENSATION:

Hourly Range:  The wage scale for this role is $20/hr USD / $26/hr CAD.


Position includes participation in all welfare, perquisites, fringe benefit, insurance, retirement and other benefit plans, practices, policies and programs, made available by the league as may be in effect from time to time.
