Position Summary
PWHL Hamilton is seeking an Assistant Equipment Manager to support the day-to-day operations of the equipment department. Reporting to the Head Equipment Manager, this position will play a critical role in assisting with all aspects of team equipment operations, ensuring players and staff are provided with the necessary gear, resources, and services to maintain a professional team environment. This posting is for a newly created position. This is a full-time, seasonal position running from October 1, 2026 through June 18, 2027. The hourly pay rate for this position is $28.00 CAD.
Key Duties & Responsibilities
- Assist with daily equipment setup and preparation for practices and games.
- Support the distribution, storage, and maintenance of athletic equipment.
- Assist with laundering of uniforms, practice gear, towels, and related materials.
- Aid in the setup and breakdown of locker rooms for home and visiting teams.
- Help pack and unpack equipment for team travel, including transport by truck, plane, and/or bus.
- Assist with equipment repair duties including skate sharpening, riveting, sewing, and maintenance.
- Perform other related duties as assigned by the Head Equipment Manager.
Required Qualifications
- Minimum of 2 years of experience in ice hockey equipment operations.
- Flexibility to work evenings, weekends, and travel as required.
- This position is based in Canada. Applicants must be legally authorized to work in Canada on a full-time basis. The PWHL does not provide work permit sponsorship for this role.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience in collegiate, international, and/or a professional hockey setting.
- A bachelor’s degree.
Flexibility & Travel
Candidate must be able to work on-site in Hamilton, Ontario, including evenings, weekends, and travel with the team as required.
