Position Summary 
 The Sport Dietitian is a contractor position for the period of October 1, 2026, to May 31, 2027. The Sport Dietitian leads the programming and execution of the Performance Nutrition Program for their assigned team. This includes coordinating the day-to-day operations of the nutrition department, coordinating educational programming for athletes, and managing the nutrition budget while serving as a resource for athletes and staff.  The pay for this position is $100.00 CAD per hour. 

Key Duties & Responsibilities 
  • Direct, implement, and monitor strategic planning initiatives to ensure appropriate use of financial resources. 
  • Assist with budgeting, ordering, and maintaining inventory of food products and supplements. 
  • Communicate and collaborate with the sports medicine staff and other key stakeholders as it relates to athlete medical care and performance. 
  • Coordinate and approve all team meals, including home and away pre- and post-game and practice meals, while ensuring player dietary restrictions and food safety standards are met. 
  • Serve as the primary point of contact and administer comprehensive evidence-based nutrition services to team athletes, including pre/post recovery, meals, supplements, and performance testing (e.g., hydration, body composition), including individual and team education and consulting. 

Required Qualifications
 
  • Bachelor's degree (or international equivalent) in dietetics, clinical nutrition, food and nutrition, or a related area. 
  • Registered Dietitian (RD). 
  • Certified Specialist in Sports Dietetics (CSSD). 
  • Licensed and in good standing with the College of Dietitians of Ontario. 
  • Minimum of 3 years of experience in nutrition counseling, preferably with an emphasis on sports nutrition in a collegiate or professional athletic setting. 
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills with the ability to adapt within a team setting. 
  • A positive, team-first approach, incorporating integrity, accountability, professionalism, and resilience. 
  • Adherence to all PWHL service standards and policies, including Health & Safety, while working in compliance with the provisions of the Occupational Health & Safety Act. 

Preferred Qualifications
 
  • Master's degree in nutrition or exercise physiology. 
  • Experience documenting in Teamworks AMS.

  4. Describe your experience providing nutrition services in a collegiate or professional sports setting, including the size of the athlete population you supported.

  5. What experience do you have documenting athlete care in an AMS platform such as Teamworks, or a comparable system?

  6. This role requires on-site presence in Ottawa and flexibility for evening and weekend work throughout the season, including travel with the team as needed. Please confirm you are able to meet this commitment for the full October 2026 through May 2027 term.

  7. This is an independent contractor engagement, not an employee position. Please confirm you are able to operate under a contractor arrangement (e.g., invoicing, no benefits eligibility, self-managed remittances) for the duration of the term.
