The Professional Women’s Hockey League is seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented individual for the role of Assistant Equipment Manager for the New York Sirens. This position reports to the Head Equipment Manager and assists in the overall equipment management needs of the team.


DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Assist with daily equipment setup and preparation for practices and games
  • Support the distribution, storage, and maintenance of athletic equipment
  • Help maintain accurate inventory records of all equipment and supplies
  • Assist with laundering of uniforms, practice gear, towels, and related materials
  • Aid in the setup and breakdown of locker rooms for home and visiting teams
  • Help pack and unpack equipment for team travel, including transport by truck, plane, and/or bus
  • Assist with equipment repair duties including skate sharpening, riveting, sewing, and maintenance
  • Perform other related duties as assigned by the Head Equipment Manager
 

QUALIFICATION REQUIREMENTS:      

  • Minimum of 2–3 years of experience in ice hockey equipment operations
  • Experience in collegiate, international, or a professional hockey setting is preferred
  • A bachelor’s degree is considered an asset but not required

 
SKILLS, ABILITIES & OTHER ATTRIBUTES: 

  • Basic knowledge of hockey equipment management, including skate maintenance and repairs
  • Strong organizational skills with attention to detail
  • Ability to take direction and work collaboratively within a team environment
  • Excellent time-management and communication skills
·       Flexibility to work evenings, weekends, and travel as required
·       Candidate must be able to work on site

 
COMPENSATION:

Hourly Range:  The wage scale for this role is $20-$22 USD per hour.

Position includes participation in all welfare, perquisites, fringe benefit, insurance, retirement and other benefit plans, practices, policies and programs, made available by the league as may be in effect from time to time.
