This is a unique opportunity to join the Professional Women’s Hockey League on the ground floor and be a part of building a successful professional league. We are looking for someone who is highly motivated, positive and resilient to join the Minnesota Frost as Seasonal Athletic Trainer. As a valued member of sports medicine team and under the direction of the team’s General Manager, Head Athletic Trainer, and Team Physician, the Seasonal Athletic Trainer will assist and collaborate with the Sports Medicine staff to deliver high-level care to Minnesota Frost athletes. This will include providing sideline coverage to assigned practices as well as providing athletic training room coverage and administrative duties as assigned. The estimated start date is October 20th , 2025, with the end date being June 1st, 2026 (the “Term”).
DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:
Duties as assigned by the Head Athletic Trainer or Assistant Athletic Trainer include:
- Providing coverage to assigned practices and games
- Covering skating sessions and coordinating care for non-traveling players while the team is on the road
- Recognizing, evaluating, and treating acute, chronic, and emergent injuries and illness both on the ice, sideline, and in the athletic training room
- Assisting with game preparations and game day operations
- Completing appropriate documentation of all daily athletic injuries, treatments, and rehabilitation
- Other duties as assigned
QUALIFICATION REQUIREMENTS:
- Bachelor's degree or Master’s degree in Athletic Training - Master’s degree preferred
- Recognized by the Board of Certification as a certified athletic trainer
- Licensed and in good standing or eligible to become licensed by the Minnesota Board of Athletic Training
- Current Basic Life Support CPR certification
SKILLS, ABILITIES & OTHER ATTRIBUTES:
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills with the ability to adapt, take direction, and work collaboratively within a team setting
- Strong organizational skills with attention to detail
- Excellent time-management skills
- Adhere to all PWHL service standards and policies, including working in compliance with the provisions of the Occupational Health & Safety Act
- Flexibility to work evenings, weekends, and travel as required - little to no travel is currently expected for this position
- Candidate must be able to work on-site
COMPENSATION:
Salary: The salary for this role is $ 30,000 USD for the Term. No benefit package is included.
