Position Summary 
The Boston Fleet are seeking a detail-oriented and proactive Venue Merchandise Specialist to oversee merchandise operations across gamedays, venue retail, and community events. This hands-on role is critical to delivering an exceptional fan experience through seamless inventory management, engaging visual merchandising, and operational excellence. You will lead part-time staff, collaborate with internal teams and venue partners, and ensure best-in-class execution of all merchandise initiatives from stockroom to sales floor. 


Key Duties & Responsibilities 
  • Oversee full lifecycle of merchandise inventory including receiving, organizing, securing, and tracking all products 
  • Maintain accurate inventory systems, perform monthly cycle counts, and reconcile discrepancies 
  • Lead gameday merchandise operations by ensuring areas are stocked, staffed, and visually appealing 
  • Train and supervise part-time vendor staff on product knowledge, customer service, and sales strategies 
  • Serve as primary merchandising liaison to venue sales team to ensure seamless game day execution 
  • Maintain visual displays according to planograms and coordinate with marketing on in-venue signage 
  • Manage merchandise pop-ups at community and youth hockey events throughout Greater Boston 
  • Provide post-event recap reports with actionable insights and process improvement recommendations 
  • Enforce stockroom best practices and maintain safe, organized workspace 

Required Qualifications 
  • High school diploma or equivalent required; post-secondary coursework in business, retail management, or related field preferred 
  • Proven experience in inventory management, retail operations, or venue merchandise management 
  • Familiarity with inventory management and point-of-sale (POS) systems 
  • Ability to lift up to 30 lbs regularly and perform physical stockroom tasks 
  • Strong organizational and communication skills with attention to detail 
  • Proactive mindset with ability to multi-task in fast-paced environment 
  • Availability for evenings, weekends, and game/event days as required 

Preferred Qualifications 
  • Experience in sports, entertainment, or high-volume retail environments 
  • Experience training or supervising part-time/seasonal staff 
  • Interest in supporting women's professional hockey and community engagement 
  • Knowledge of Greater Boston area venues and event logistics 

Flexibility & Travel 
Candidate must be able to work on-site with regular evening and weekend availability to support gamedays, events, and community activations. Local travel throughout the Greater Boston area required for off-site merchandise events.
