The Professional Women’s Hockey League is seeking a highly motivated, positive and resilient individual for the role of Public Announcer for the Boston Fleet. This position reports to the Game Presentation Manager.


DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Announces starting lineups, goals, penalties, and other in-game events clearly and enthusiastically
  • Executes all sponsor and promotional reads as scheduled
  • Provides live updates on game rules, safety messages, and fan engagement content
  • Maintains consistent tone, volume, and energy appropriate for each stage of the game
  • Ensures correct pronunciation of all player and official names
  • Remains composed and professional under pressure, particularly during fast-paced or high-stakes game moments
 

QUALIFICATION REQUIREMENTS:      

  • High school degree 
  • 1-2 years public announcing experience  

 
SKILLS, ABILITIES & OTHER ATTRIBUTES: 

  • Prior experience as a public announcer, broadcaster, or live event host preferred
  • Strong, clear, and engaging speaking voice
  • Excellent pronunciation, diction, and reading skills
  • Ability to follow scripts and adapt to live situations
  • Comfort using a microphone and working in a live event setting
  • Knowledge of hockey rules, terminology, and game flow
  • Ability to work evenings, weekends, and holidays during the season
  • Reliable transportation to and from the arena
  • Candidate must be able to work on-site
  • Strong organizational skills with attention to detail 
  • Ability to take direction and work collaboratively within a team environment 
  • Excellent time-management and communication skills
