Overview

The Pittsburgh Penguins Ice Crew is a dynamic team responsible for energizing fans and performing in front of crowds of more than 18,500 during Penguins home games at PPG Paints Arena. Team members assist with on-ice ice maintenance during television timeouts while contributing to the overall game presentation experience.

In addition to gameday responsibilities, Ice Crew members may assist with special events, marketing promotions, charity appearances, and other organizational activities as needed.

Key Responsibilities

On-Ice Performance & Game Presentation
  •  Perform on-ice ice cleaning duties during television timeouts at Pittsburgh Penguins home games. 
  •  Maintain energy, professionalism, and enthusiasm while performing in front of large live audiences. 
  •  Contribute to the overall entertainment and fan experience during games and events. 

Fan & Community Engagement
  •  Represent the Pittsburgh Penguins organization professionally during special events and promotional appearances. 
  •  Participate in charity events, community outreach opportunities, and other organizational functions as assigned. 
  •  Interact positively with fans and guests at games and events.

Team Participation & Preparation
  •  Attend all required practices, rehearsals, games, and related team activities. 
  •  Maintain readiness and professionalism for all scheduled appearances and events. 
  •  Collaborate effectively with fellow Ice Crew members and Game Presentation staff. 

Event Operations & Scheduling
  •  Maintain flexibility to work nights, weekends, holidays, and other scheduled events. 
  •  Be available for at least 65% of Pittsburgh Penguins home games. 
  •  Support additional event and promotional responsibilities as assigned. 

Qualifications

Required Qualifications
  •  Must be at least 18 years old by August 1, 2026. 
  •  High school diploma or G.E.D. required. 
  •  Proficient and experienced skater. 
  •  Physically fit and capable of performing in a fast-paced live event environment. 
  •  Comfortable performing in front of large crowds. 
  •  If selected, must reside in the Pittsburgh area. 
  •  Flexible schedule with the ability to attend all required practices, games, and related activities. 
  •  Passion for the Pittsburgh Penguins and the sport of hockey. 

Preferred Skills
  •  Energetic, outgoing, and positive personality. 
  •  Strong communication and interpersonal skills. 
  •  Responsible, dependable, and professional demeanor. 
  •  Knowledge of hockey and familiarity with the Pittsburgh Penguins organization. 
  •  Previous live event, entertainment, or performance experience preferred.
