Based at: PPG Paints Arena, 1001 Fifth Ave, Pittsburgh, PA 15219
 
The Pittsburgh Penguins are currently seeking a graphic design intern to assist primarily with graphic design and marketing projects.   This internship is onsite at the Pittsburgh Penguins offices at PPG Paints Arena and is open to students entering their junior or senior year in college, with 20-40 hours of flexible availability each week. The internship is paid hourly at the rate of $10 per hour. Students remain eligible for earning course credits for their internship and will be responsible for ensuring that the internship meets the criteria of their program and/or university. 
 
Key Responsibilities and Accountabilities:
  • Assist with the design and maintenance of graphic templates
  • Assist with ongoing design projects
  • Assist with player cutout and treatments of photos in preparation for use in graphics
  • Understand the sports design world, but also bring new ideas to the table
  • Must feel comfortable working inside graphics templates, brand standards and campaign guidelines
  • Deliver final design products in a quick and orderly fashion 
Candidates should possess the following qualifications: 
  • Pursuing a degree in graphic design, advertising, or related field
  • Required: Must have completed sophomore year 
  • Required Technical Skills: Adobe Creative Suite including: Photoshop, Illustrator and InDesign
  • Ability to work within a brand while also keeping things fresh, attention to detail, quick and efficient with execution and ideation
  • Preferred: Strong hockey knowledge and familiarity with the NHL and the Pittsburgh Penguins
