Approximate Timeline:
  • This internship posting will remain open until June 1st, 2026
  • Applicants will be reviewed on a rolling basis and reached out with further communication by June 22nd, 2026, at the latest.
  • Anticipated start date is September 7th, 2026 and end date is December 4th, 2026.

Job Purpose: Assist in the service of all current and potential event & hospitality initiatives

Requirements: This internship is onsite at the Pittsburgh Penguins offices at PPG Paints Arena and is open to students entering their junior or senior year in college, with 25-30 hours of flexible availability each week. The internship is paid hourly at the rate of $10 per hour. Students remain eligible for earning course credits for their internship and will be responsible for ensuring that the internship meets the criteria of their program and/or university.

Key Responsibilities and Duties: 
  • Create effective event & hospitality-based proposals using PowerPoint, Photoshop, Word, etc. with direction from Sr. Coordinator of Events & Hospitality.
  • Create effective event & hospitality-based briefs using PowerPoint, Photoshop, Word, etc. with direction from Sr. Coordinator of Events & Hospitality and have a clear understanding of the difference between a proposal & a brief.
  • Create and manage viable floor plans.
  • Create and manage invite lists to facilitate initial correspondence, track responses, send reminders and utilize data to update program partners using Excel, Formstack and Swoogo.
  • Create and manage an effective Run of Show (ROS)
  • Use the Internet to research industry trends, source venues and procure supplies/gifts.
  • Determine program needs and procure supplies in a budget friendly manner.  Manage receipt, use and inventory surplus.
  • Event day support for all on- and off-site programs including but not limited to set-up, tear-down, admissions, registration, vendor management, and all duties related to execution.
  • Manage event day volunteers.
  • Perform various office tasks (i.e. copying, proofreading, mailing, etc.).
