Pittsburgh Penguins LP seeks an Assistant Coach to work in Pittsburgh, PA, to be responsible for the development of professional hockey players.

Duties include: 
  • (i) coordinating with the General Manager and Head Coach on the progress and development of all players in the team system
  • (ii) pre-scouting next opponent, facilitating individual meetings with Players 
  • (iii) attending annual Training Camp, Rookie Tournament, and Development Camp

Must be available to travel for away games as scheduled by the NHL.

Must have 10 years of experience as an NHL player or in a related position coaching National Hockey League (NHL) or professional hockey players.

Experience must include: 
  • (i) Five (5) years developing hockey players’ skillsets (ex: shooting, passing, skating) and hockey sense (ex: recognizing and understanding NHL team systems and gameplay) across all professional and amateur levels;
  •  (ii) Two (2) years as coach or player development coach at the NHL level;
  • (iii) 100 or more games played or coached in the NHL;
  • (iv) Analyzing game footage, preparing scouting reports, and developing game plans;
  • (v) Motivating and mentoring elite athletes in the areas of lifestyle, eating habits, training regimen and consumption of game tape; and 
  • (vi) Collaborating with NHL trainers, video analysts, and front office personnel

Experience can be concurrent.

  11. Do you have experience collaborating with NHL trainers, video analysts, and front office personnel?
