The New York Islanders Hockey Club is one of the most iconic franchises in professional sports with a deeply passionate and loyal fanbase. We’ve won four consecutive Stanley Cups in the early 1980s and are well on our way to add to that legacy. The next few years will be action-packed as we complete our world-class, state-of-the-art arena, reposition our brand in the Long Island and Metro New York markets, and prepare to reclaim the Stanley Cup.
 
We are hiring a VP, Partnership Sales.  If you are passionate about creating and developing corporate partnerships while building your career in the sports & entertainment industry, then we want to get to know you.
 
How to Make the Team
As the Vice President, Partnership Sales, you will drive long-term corporate partnerships revenue for the New York Islanders and UBS Arena. You will report to the Senior Vice President, Partnership Sales to create an overall strategic approach to driving national, regional and local corporate partnerships and help to manage and develop your own sales team.

Show Us You Can:
  • Establish new marketing partnerships to achieve annual revenue goals
  • Secure appointments to sell to new prospects among local and national companies 
  • Analyze specific marketing needs by conducting a needs analysis with prospects based on partner objectives 
  • Deliver presentations in-person to decision makers and larger groups to drive revenue for the company
  • Develop meaningful business relationships with existing and potential sponsors 
  • Communicate well across all areas of the company including legal, accounting, marketing, community relations and ticketing 
  • Work closely with the Partnership Activation team to ensure current clients receive superior service and complete fulfillment of every contract detail
  • Assist with Team marketing events and initiatives

Your Training & Talent:
  • Bachelor’s degree in sports administration, business or marketing 
  • 10-12 years’ experience working with a sports team in partnerships 
  • Strategic prowess focused on growing the business vision while managing day-to-day operations
  • Creativity, strong analytical skills and organizational skills 
  • Customer-focused, relationship building mindset 
  • Superior interpersonal skills across all mediums of communication 
  • Results and bottom-line driven attitude balanced with sensitivity towards people and values 
  • Discretion when privy to sensitive and confidential information 
  • Strong player-coach mentality focused on developing staff

Where You’ll Go:
  • Primarily based out of our Floral Park, NY office with some time in the Manhattan offices as needed
  • Some travel may be required (<40%)
