Powers Management Job Description

 

Job Title: Part-Time Ice Crew   

Department: Operations

Job Reports To: Director, Ice Operations/Ice Manager

Status: Non-Exempt, Hourly

 

 

Major Responsibilities/Activities

  • Push a snow shovel and/or scooping piles of snow during Nashville Predators home game to clear the ice during TV timeouts while on skates.
  • Assist with the setup and cleaning of the rink and Zamboni tunnel area prior to home games.
  • Assist with tear down of the Zamboni tunnel area and other assigned areas around the ice following home games.
  • Conduct duties assigned during intermissions of Predators home games, such as scraping ice along boards, pushing nets, cleaning marsh peg holes and filling ice ruts.
  • Assist ice technicians with ice maintenance prior to and following Predators home games.

 

Minimum Requirements

  • Must be 18 years or older.
  • High School graduate or GED.
  • Possess a safety-focused, communicative, and proactive mindset.
  • Ability to work nights, weekends and holidays.
  • Must be available two hours prior to puck drop to one-hour post-game.
  • As a condition of employment, qualified applicant will be subject to a background check, including a criminal history check, driver history and character references.
  • Possess a valid driver’s license, possess a suitable driving history and be insurable by Powers Management’s insurance carrier.

 

Essential Physical Functions

  • Ability to ice skate and perform duties at a high level.
  • Good physical condition and health, sufficient strength needed for lifting and carrying up to 30 pounds and must have the stamina needed for walking, standing, and/or being in a crunched position for long periods of time while on skates.
  • Ability to work with and around water and ice and to work at or below freezing temperatures for extended periods of time.
  • Exposure to bright lights and loud noise.

 

 

Equipment Used

  • Large snow shovels.
  • Scoop shovels.
  • Ice scrapers.
  • Various hand tools.
