| About the Role: | The Vice President of Marketing for the Nashville Predators and Bridgestone Arena will be responsible for all marketing and branding functions for this National Hockey League team and the 17,159-seat arena in which it plays. This person will be responsible for planning, developing, and executing marketing initiatives that promote the sales of season, group and single game tickets, partnerships, and premium seating for the Predators, while also working with promoters and tour  managers to ensure the continued success of concerts events and family shows at Bridgestone Arena through owned channels (web, social, digital) as well as partners (radio, television). The Vice President of Marketing will also manage marketing efforts for affiliated companies of the Predators and Bridgestone Arena, including Sabertooth Sports & Entertainment (SS&E), Ford Ice Centers, and the Nashville Predators Foundation. Top candidates will possess the ability to identify strategic directions based on data, analytics, and customer feedback, gain alignment throughout the organization, and successfully implement successful initiatives while ensuring compliance with applicable laws and National Hockey League (“NHL”) rules, managing budgets, and prioritizing multiple projects.  
 
Job Responsibilities
  • Serve as the organizational marketing lead, utilizing creative, digital and social media, database marketing, media buying strategies and other means to advance the organization’s single, group, season, and premium ticket sales each season.
  • Lead a team of marketing professionals in constant pursuit of the organization’s ONEGOAL mission; management responsibilities include but are not limited to providing continuous feedback, conducting regular performance reviews, managing projects while working toward deadlines, coaching, advising and motivating. 
  • Work directly with the organization’s partnership development and activation leaders to identify the needs of existing and prospective sponsors, creating solutions and activations focused on increasing consumer interaction with those partners.
  • Establish organizational marketing philosophy and vision for both the long and short terms.
  • Create a rolling annual marketing plan that integrates all sales and marketing activities across the organization to address and identify short term and long-term opportunities engage our fans, create sales, and internally manage communication to all departments.
  • Manage and track the marketing budget, knowing all expenses that flow through the marketing department; also applying the marketing budget to project final year end expenses.
  • Assume the role as a strategic leader, effectively utilizing data, analytics, and customer feedback to develop tactics to grow the Predators fanbase, sell tickets, and drive retail sales.
  • Collaborate with the organization’s business strategy team to measure performance on marketing initiatives throughout the year.
  • In conjunction with the organization’s GUIDER (DEI) board, plan, execute and promote GUIDER initiatives in order to, among other things, grow a diverse fan base. 
  • Direct and lead the organization’s creative services team and any necessary external vendors to develop annual sales and branding campaigns.
  • Partner with national and regional event producers to develop marketing plans for Bridgestone Arena concerts, events, and family shows.
    • This is likely to include creation and placement of advertising in print, electronic, television, radio, social, OOH and grassroots marketing campaigns.
  • Successfully work alongside the organization’s game presentation, broadcasting, communications, content, and community relations departments to ensure consistency in voice and external message, while helping each department achieve its goals each year.
  • Lead the execution of fan and grass roots marketing events (staffing, messaging, partnership involvement, talent, etc.) to create high impact fan engagement and satisfaction.
  • Work with the organization’s legal team members on behalf of the marketing department to ensure compliance with any applicable laws, including but not limited to intellectual property, accessibility, data privacy, contests, sweepstakes, and advertising laws as well as NHL rules. 
  • Develop risk mitigation strategies for social media and other company owned channels with a focus on content control and compliance.
  • Maintain the organization’s brand standards and ensure compliance across all communications channels and platforms. 
  • Work closely with the National Hockey League (NHL) and its marketing, branding, retail, and fan development departments, guiding the organization contributions to the league’s success each season.
  • Work with the NHL, the Southeastern Conference (“SEC”), and the County Music Association (“CMA”), among others, to ensure the repeated success of each organization’s tentpole events at Bridgestone Arena.
  • Lead marketing efforts for the organization’s affiliated ventures: Sabretooth Sports and Entertainment (“SS&E”), F&M Bank Arena (new 6,000 seat venue in Clarksville, TN), Ford Ice Centers and the Predators Foundation. 
    • Oversee marketing activity to sell season, premium, group and single game tickets for Austin Peay State University Athletics through SS&E.
  • Embrace the organizational priority to grow and develop young employees, serving as a strong leader, mentor, and teammate to each member of the marketing team.
  • Work with the organization’s legal team members on behalf of the marketing department to ensure compliance with any applicable laws, including but not limited to intellectual property, accessibility, data privacy, contents, sweepstakes, and advertising laws as well as NHL rules.

Minimum Requirements
  • Four (4) year degree from an accredited college or university.
  • 10+ years of marketing experience (preferably in team sports and/or event marketing).
  • At least 7 years of experience managing a successful, productive team of marketing professionals.
  • Experience working with various marketing platforms, technologies, and digital media trends.
  • Strategic thinker that effectively uses data, analytics, and customer feedback in decision-making processes.
  • Prior experience in media buying. 
  • Understand and exercise the necessity of flexibility in a naturally fast-paced, ever changing business environment.
  • Identify and take advantage of emerging trends in sports and entertainment as well as a continuing attentiveness to issues and risks facing the sports and entertainment industries.
  • Demonstrate ability to forge and develop relationships with co-workers and external business partners; understanding the importance of collaboration to achieve success.
  • Capable of leading multiple projects at any one time.
  • Ability to lead others and work across all departments in the organization.
  • Strong leadership skills, ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously, and diligence with the ability to effectively leverage resources to drive successful outcomes.
  • Must be able to work evenings, weekends, and holidays.

  • Possess a valid driver’s license, possess a suitable driving history and be insurable by Nashville Predators’ insurance carrier (without conditions).

Essential Physical Requirements:
  • Exposure to bright lights, extreme temperatures, dust, and loud noise.
  • Excellent computer skills.
  • Excellent speaking and listening skills, requiring the perception of speech.
  • Ability to carry, move, bend, kneel and work with arms raised for prolonged periods of time.
