About the Role
This position is responsible for the development, implementation, and management of hockey programming in a manner supportive of the organization’s goal to grow hockey in the community. This includes promoting and administering adult hockey leagues and programs, initiation of development programs, clinics, leagues, fielding athlete complaints and questions, and enforcing USA Hockey policies and procedures.

Job Responsibilities:
Program Administration
- Coordinates adult hockey programming for Centennial Ice Rink, including but not limited to developing, planning, scheduling, promoting, and overseeing adult hockey leagues, clinics and tournaments.
- Organizes leagues, team rosters, referees and scorekeepers.
- Maintains records of games and publishes standings and team/player statistics acting as the system administrator for the league management website.
- Works closely with Manager of Amateur Hockey & Fan Development in the recruitment of captains and teams and maintains active communication on all issues and opportunities.
- Creates prepares and distributes information to captains, players, staff and officials regarding program policies and operations.
- Oversees all aspects of registration and guest experience in the adult league consisting of 3 seasons annually, growing the program and helping the program.
- Manages scheduling of programming and game schedules. Works with facility management to ensure these schedules coincide with the facility master ice schedule.
- Responsible for scheduling staff and processing payroll for adult hockey games (referees, scorekeepers, etc.).
- Assist rink management in the operation of the ice rinks, including employee scheduling, timecards, reporting safety hazards, assigning duties to staff, and other various duties, including maintaining the sheets of ice by operation of the Zambonis and the edger.
- Operates POS system at the skate counter which includes admission sales, class registration ice rental payment and all other services offered to the public.
- Reconciles daily revenue collected in preparation for deposit.
- Evaluates programs and services and makes recommendations based on findings.
- Assists in the evaluation of players for proper placement in divisions within leagues and programs.
- Be available/accessible to answer questions during adult hockey programming.
- Performs other duties as assigned.
Personnel Management
- Oversees staff scheduling for referees and scorekeepers.
- Oversees discipline of on-ice incidents during games or tournaments.
- Helps to hire, guide and develop special event staff, scoreboard operators and officials.
- Helps to create monthly meetings with hockey captains for adult leagues to maintain close communications with adult customer base and ensure that needs are being met and opportunities and issues are quickly uncovered.
- Performs other duties as assigned.
Minimum Requirements:
- Minimum of one (1) year experience in working in/around hockey programs.
- Excellent skating/hockey skills and instructional ability.
- Must possess excellent interpersonal, leadership and organizational skills.
- Certified in basic first aid skills (infant and adult) and injury reporting procedures.
- Registered and insured through USA Hockey.
- Passionate about hockey; possesses dynamic characteristics of energy, assertiveness, drive, enthusiasm and fun.
- Exemplifies strong leadership skills and serves as role model.
- Maintains a consistent professional, motivational, enthusiastic management style.
- Ability to work a flexible work schedule with changing days off and hours; to include holidays, weekends as well as early morning and late evenings.

- Possess a valid driver’s license, possess a suitable driving history and be insurable by Powers Management’s insurance carrier (without conditions).
Essential Physical Requirements:
- Occasional heavy lifting/moving of items up to 20lbs.
- Frequent walking, sitting, bending, stooping required.
- Exposure to bright lights, extreme temperatures, and loud noise.
- Excellent computer skills.
