Powers Management Job Description
Job Title: Maintenance Mechanic
Department: Operations
Job Reports To: Director, Facility Operations
Status: Non-Exempt
Major Responsibilities/Activities:
- Perform general building maintenance and repairs including plumbing, carpentry, painting, and basic electrical and HVAC support.
- Troubleshoot and repair mechanical systems and facility equipment.
- Perform small engine repair and maintenance.
- Conduct preventive maintenance inspections on building systems and equipment.
- Respond to maintenance work orders and emergency calls in a timely manner.
- Plumbing fixture maintenance: water heaters, sinks and faucets, toilets, and drains.
- Maintain preventive maintenance programs.
- Maintenance and repair of the facility, including suites, door hardware, locks, woodworking, and other special projects as assigned.
- Assist other departments and Operations sub-departments as directed.
- Assist in other projects as assigned by management.
Minimum Requirements:
- High School diploma or GED.
- 3-5 years’ experience in general maintenance.
- Basic computer skills.
- General facility maintenance experience.
- Ability to communicate and understand complex directions.
- Able to work flexible hours; hours might include nights, weekends, and holidays.
- Able to be on call for emergencies, 24/7
- As a condition of employment, qualified applicant will be subject to a background check, including a criminal history check, driver history and character references.
- Possess a valid driver’s license, possess a suitable driving history and be insurable by the Organization’s insurance carrier.
Essential Physical Functions:
- Lifting, carrying, bending, moving, and climbing.
- Ability to lift 75 pounds.
- Able to work in confined spaces.
- Able to work in different degrees of heights.
Equipment Used:
- Carpentry and plumbing tools.
- Table saws, power tools, and drill press.
- Forklifts, scissor lifts, boom lifts, backhoes, and other lift equipment.
