Broadcast Production Assistant Internship, Watertown Shamrocks (NAHL)
The Watertown Shamrocks of the North American Hockey League (NAHL) are looking to add one to two broadcast production assistants to our production team for the 2025-26 season. The right candidates will be looking to develop their production skills while contributing to a collaborative team environment.
The broadcast production assistant(s) will have the opportunity to work with the current staff to produce and assist in various areas of our gameday production team, including but not limited to – replay assistant, camera operations, technical directing, graphics and overlay creation, and producing.
The ideal candidate will be either currently enrolled in or recently graduated from college studying a related field. The student may or may not choose to seek college credit for this internship; the Shamrocks will work with the student's school to ensure the internship works within their requirements for credit if so desired.

Roles to be Filled
· Graphics – Create and update live graphics templates for use during broadcast. Communicates with producer, broadcaster, and all other productions staff to provide timely and accurate graphics. Previous experience in graphics operating, sports production, in-house production, audio/video equipment, technical troubleshooting, and extensive knowledge of hockey is a plus but is not required.
· Replay – Controls all playback during the game. Captures various camera angles for playback during broadcast and in-house viewing. Responsible for editing plays as they happen for the director to use on-air as well as exporting highlights/promotional material following proper procedure. Previous replay operations experience, sports and in-house production experience, technical troubleshooting, and extensive knowledge of hockey is a plus but is not required.
· The person in this role will also assist throughout the week with broadcast and in-house production preperation, inlcuding, but not limited to, filming, video editing, graphic creation, pre-game package creation, updating gameday run down, and maintaining and updating Daktronics video board.
· All other duties as assigned.
Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
· Familiarity with operating a TriCaster, graphics overlay systems, Open Broadcasting Software (OBS) and/or Daktronics Show Control Studio is a plus but is not required. We can teach you!
· Excellent communication and organizational skills.
· Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a team setting.
· Ability to adapt and react on the fly during a live-sporting event.
· Maintains a calm demeanor and works well under pressure in unexpected circumstances.
· Flexibility to work evenings, weekends, and holidays, if required.

The Shamrocks will work with the intern to develop their skills with industry-standard equipment. Our production team is collaborative in nature and the intern will be given the opportunity to seek the projects that will help them achieve their ultimate career goals. Interns should expect to be treated as valued members of the team and encouraged to share opinions and ideas openly. Our goal is to help our interns develop real skills, not send them on coffee runs.
