Program Overview
The Oklahoma Warriors NAHL and OKC Warriors NA3HL Internship Program is designed to provide hands-on experience in sports entertainment, live event hosting, and broadcast media within a junior hockey organization. Interns will work directly with the game presentation, production, and media staff to support live game entertainment, fan engagement initiatives, broadcast appearances, and digital media content throughout the hockey season.
This internship provides practical exposure to live public address hosting, on-camera appearances, fan interaction, interview preparation, content creation, and live sports entertainment in a fast-paced environment. Interns will gain valuable experience both in front of live audiences and on broadcast platforms during Oklahoma Warriors and OKC Warriors home games and special events.

Program Objectives
· Provide practical experience in live sports entertainment and on-air broadcasting.
· Develop public speaking, communication, and live-event presentation skills.
· Expose interns to game presentation, media coordination, and fan engagement operations.
· Foster professional growth through collaboration with production staff and game day personnel.
· Build confidence, adaptability, creativity, and teamwork skills through live event execution.
Internship Structure & Responsibilities
1. In-Arena Hosting & Fan Engagement (Primary Focus)
· Serve as the primary in-arena host during Oklahoma Warriors and OKC Warriors home games.
· Write game day time-line and script for media staff.
· Engage fans live on the arena microphone during pregame, intermissions, and promotional segments.
· Conduct interviews with players, coaches, sponsors, and special guests.
· Organize and host interactive games, contests, and fan engagement activities during breaks in play.
· Promote team merchandise, ticket packages, special events, and sponsor activations through engaging announcements.
· Maintain a positive, energetic, and professional atmosphere throughout each event.
2. Broadcast & Media Contributions
· Participate in NAHL.tv broadcasts through live in-game appearances and media timeout segments.
· Collaborate with the production team to create entertaining game-day and digital media content.
· Assist with social media video content, interviews, and promotional features.
· Support content planning and brainstorming for fan engagement initiatives and broadcast features.
Learning Outcomes

· Strengthen communication, improvisation, and problem-solving abilities during live events.
· Learn the fundamentals of game presentation, fan engagement, and sports broadcasting workflows.

Skills & Qualifications
· Currently pursuing or recently completed a degree in Communications, Broadcast Journalism, Media, Sports Management, Marketing, Theater, or a related field preferred.
· Excellent verbal communication, presentation, and organizational skills.
· Comfortable speaking in front of large crowds and appearing on camera.
· Ability to adapt quickly and react professionally during live sporting events.
· Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced team environment.
· Positive, energetic, dependable, and eager to learn.
· Passion for sports, entertainment, and fan engagement.
Internship Duration
This internship will span the full hockey season from September through April. Interns will work flexible hours based on the team schedule, including nights, weekends, and home games.
Because game nights provide the majority of hands-on learning opportunities, interns should plan to be present for most of the Oklahoma Warriors and/or OKC Warriors home games and team events throughout the season.

This is an unpaid internship; however, college credit may be earned if applicable through the intern’s academic institution.

This position will require an audition in addition to the interview.
This internship is designed to provide valuable experience in the fast-paced world of junior hockey while allowing interns to make meaningful contributions to the success of the Oklahoma Warriors NAHL and OKC Warriors NA3HL organizations. Interns will be treated as valued members of the game presentation and media team and encouraged to contribute ideas, develop new skills, and pursue projects that support their long-term career goals.
